Hi folks,

I'm wondering if people prefer this version of the June 20th concert or the vibratory merge here: http://www.crosstowntorrents.org/showthread.php?p=3788. I cannot afford to download them both to compare because I have to raise my (crappy) ratio.

Thanks

It depends! The SBD is arguably 'cleaner' sounding, the merge is more complete (some material not available on the SBD source, like the last recorded version of AYE), and stereo where both sources exist.
Just download them both, and try to keep the torrents open after downloading. I'll donate a few GBs to your upload, so dont worry about your ratio too much.

So...time for another newb question...What makes this an upgrade of ATM 032? I've just downloaded both of them and, honestly, ATM 032 sounds better to me. In general the sound is less muffled, and it seems like there's more of a range of frequencies (e.g. when Jimi uses the wah). So, does "upgrade" refer to something other than sound quality? Or maybe my ears aren't as perceptive as others'.

Trying to establish my ATM collection, I am discovering a lot of discrepancies between my copies and the list. Does anyone have an updated ATM list? Thank you.

Man thank you so much for this! I actually have a friend who went to see Jimi all those years back, and it wasn't till he told me about the details he could remember that i came to the firm conclusion that he went to this exact concert! He was so excited when I told him I bet I could get him the entire recording of it for his collection, and finally thanks to you guys I have it! He said Jimi called the audience a bunch of teenyboppers and at the end when purple haze was played there was actually purple smoke (haze) filling the stage. The live rendition of AYE is my favorite out of any version I've ever heard, particularly because of that beautiful guitar work 5-6 mins in.
