It's official material: the unedited track could be find on "Hear My Music".

I think I have a longer version on Studio 69. There are 2 midnights back to back in the track listing and one is longer. I listened to them both rather quickly and it was hard to tell if one was simply edited from the other. They were however different from the EXP Hendrix First Rays and VooDoo soup versions. I would say one of the recordings on Studio 69 was edited for the before mentioned post-humus releases. So yeah, Studio 69 has a great version that is extended from what is on the CD releases.
