Just posted at ESC. I could not find a listing in the Los Angeles area for this but I did go to the Boston website. The detailed program description seems to match the description of the latest Monterey dvd. If it is, it's a great opportunity for those w/o it to record this broadcast. If not, it might make a great torrent :

Boston's U.S. Public Broadcasting System television station WGBH will air this program tonight:

"The Jimi Hendrix Experience: American Landing"

A chronicle of Jimi Hendrix's rise from obscurity, featuring his legendary Monterey Pop Festival appearance.""

The Boston Globe says that interviews with Chas Chandler, Pete Townshend and Steve Miller will be included.

To find out if this program airs in your area tonight, enter your zip code in the search box on their home page http://www.pbs.org/

I didn't check yet if it is on in NYC but it is fund drive, so if it is on it will be cut to ribbons.

We had the PBS Woodstock one here in Chicago about 2 weeks ago.....yes...they do make breaks to solicit donations and they also talked about Hendrix and offered the Woodstock 2 CD set for the minimum donation($75.00), and also talked and offered the WCSB 4 CD 1 DVD set along with Woodstock for the higher donation($245.00)
As for the film itself, it was the one on the 2 DVD set.......I didn't see the whole broadcast tho' the only edit I saw was it did have the Woodstock Improv part....it went like the ole' Woodstock album....Hendrix did the PH ending solo seque right into Villanove Junction.
The breaks were well placed(they don't stop right in the middle of a song) and like I mentioned they talked and promoted WCSB as well.It was nice to see Hendrix getting some regular TV exposure.

... so if it is on it will be cut to ribbons.even so, as JL sez above, I also dig it when Hendrix gets some 'air' time.
