Hi folks!

Here's a little tool a wrote years ago for renaming the music files
i downloaded. Its based on the idea of renaming files in a textbox.

It lets you copy filenames straight from info files or change the
existing filenames to bring everything to a consistent format.
This speeds up the renaming process a little :)

There is no danger for anything if you play around with it,
as long as you don't hit the rename button. Have a look at the
attached screenshots to get an idea of how it works. A small info file
is included in the zip file.

PS: Checked for viruses using Antivir with current signatures.

V1.1 (build date 17.01.2009)
-added version and build information
-fixed all known (to me) crash conditions
-fixed browse start directory (now drive c:\)
-now shows correct startdrive in pulldown menu too :)
-added mechanism that prevents double clicking of rename button
-added safety/sanity checks to rename button
-delspaces routines are now called before rename
-checks for short names (0 chars)
-checks for doublettes (several files should not get same names)
-checks for double digit numbers at start of new filenames (asks user if he really wants it)
-checks if all files to be renamed still exist (now before first file is renamed)
-tried and tested rename code left untouched
-changed icon for error message boxes, errorboxes now visually differ from other boxes
-added string replace function
-replaced pdf info file by txt file (download size)
-reworked info file

The file is clean but what does

There is no danger for anything if you play around with it,
as long as you don't hit the rename button exactly mean? What's the purpose of the program if you can't rename the files? :p

hehe, the rename button does indeed rename the files since march 2008.

But you can play around with the program without changing anything on your harddrive,
as long as you don't hit the rename button :)
