1968-05-25 Rome, Teatro Brancaccio

This is the new Rome tape in all its unedited glory.

Experience Hendrix bought this tape from the taper and now they give it to us for free, not bad!

So thanks to the taper, and Experience Hendrix, we have a new tape to enjoy.

I've not touched it, the files are the same as what EH sent out.
IDLT and WT are in 2 parts, there are some cuts all the way through, and some closeby audience members can be heard pretty clearly. The 2nd show fragment is in one piece.

Its a good show with not enough electricity in the building to power those amps properly, but the JHE make the best of it.

A lot more could be said about this tape, but i'm not going to. ;)

Thanks to Morelmusic, Relliott, voodoo_child58.

Surprised it took this long to be torrented :-)
Thanks to all involved here in getting it to us, especially EH. They take a lot of stick at times (I'll say no more here) so it's nice to be able to really thank them for what is a really great show and recording.
Looking forward to seeing the art for this .................. anyone?
Some standout reditions on here of those familiar tunes.
Be interested to hear your thoughts on the show so I'll now post a comments thread for this show .......................

08-31-10, 09:58 AM
i think it would only speed up the process of it ending up on ebay, but the cats out the bag anyway now, no denying that. if you want to do it, go for it!

Nice touch in Red House right after his solo when the crowd is applauding wildly Jimi says "Thank You" with the guitar and something else. Maybe "grazie"?

08-31-10, 08:00 PM
This is so great, can't believe the quality, the playing is pretty sharp too. Jimi really was bringing it at this point in his career, still very enthused about playing for the fans, sounds like there was a lot of showmanship going on from the sounds of the crowd. EH probably could have packaged this thing and sold it if they had wanted to, the quality is almost there. Kudos to them for letting the fans have it. I know I will be putting EH products in people's Christmas stockings this year!
Jimi lives on--who could ever doubt it?

Joined up the separated I Don't Live Today and Wild Thing into single tracks
Split the tracks from the second concert into single tracks
Applied a light EQ cut on 8k to remove a bit of hiss on the second concert only
