ok, I admit it too!!! I am a Hendrix junkie! It all started when I was 15 years old, and someone gave me a cassette dub of the vinyl bootleg "Jimi-Electric Birthday". I freaked out when I first heard Itīs too bad and World Traveller. Whatever happened back then with my brain, I got hooked on it til today, hahaha
hereīs me getting arrested for playing on Reeperbahn, Hamburg at an unannouced guerilla gig on a flatbed truck, come one all, letīs see your pictures, would be nice to know how you all look!

Nice idea to start such a thread.
C'mon, I know most of us aren't kids anymore
but let us be one for a second. Introduce yourself!
Post your photo. Let other members see you!
Give them a chance to know the face behind the
nickname. Aren't we all here for the same purpose?
To have fun, meet people with same interests and
of course keep Jimi's "flame" alive. So, remember
Jimi and post one "message of love".

Thank you Steev, I'm very proud of my daughter.
She is most beautiful to me of course but it's always
nice to hear compliments from other people too.
She also has a beautiful soul and is very smart
and talented. She plays piano, goes to mathematical
high school, loves her father very much and we have
a great relationship. I thank God for that every day
(even though I'm an atheist - lol).

NICE Pic Roberto ! ! I had a different experience when I met Noel, unfortunately (with Mitch-1987 . . . ) I'll cut & paste the story here from another thread soon. Still looking for the pic or 2 I have of Mitch.
Guys, I'm trying to get Image Shack to be "My Friend" & I just got back from a morning at the hospital . . . :( I promise an "Overload" of my fambily in pix soon. :) I'm very happy to "know" you all!
Beautiful pix everybody.

I had a different experience when I met Noel, unfortunately .

when I met in Noel in October 97 (he was playing with this rhythm & blues fifties rock.n.roll band at Fabrik, Hamburg) he was in a not-too-good state unfortunately, boy was he drunk. the concert ended, as Noel turned around, stumbled over his guitar cable, fell down on his knees and crashed forward onto his fender (or whatever) combo amplifier while still holding his guitar of course. he was now somehow in a position so that he could not get up by himself, and had to be pulled up by two people on each side, which then continoud to "carry" him backstage, which is where I met him. He was very nice, and not specifically in a bad mood, but just fucking drunk. Neil Landon who was there too, seemed to be quite embarassed and sad about the state his old friend was in. It was a strange evening. here a pic of the autograph I got that night (actually I got two, gotta find the other one....)

Olvatore - THANX 4 sharing! BTW-Your pic looks EXACTLY like a gig I did on South St (a semi-famous Street in Philly) some years ago, which ended in much the same way yours apparently did :)
It's a shame we live so (very) far apart. I'd bet a Jam would prove to be "enlightening" :) Take care.

Yes, sadly I saw Noel in this mood several times. The photo I posted was taken in 1994 he still was with Candice and was in a really good mood and he didn't drink too much. In the last years he didn't care about his health and business.

Neil Landon who was there too, seemed to be quite embarassed and sad about the state his old friend was in.

Jimi's music became part of my life since then. I always say; it's like his music love me, and I love it back, it's like it understands me and I understand it back.

Can we please see some more faces of the members? I like this idea.

In the years before the internet, I used to have recurring dreams where I'd discover new Hendrix boots in the under-the-counter special bins of some mysterious hippie record store. I'm a fan since approximately 1990. I was thirteen then and I saw the Woodstock film. It started there. I used all my money working as a paperboy to collect all kinds of CD's and bootlegs. A music store nearby sold bootlegs, and in one of those I found the address of much more to come.

Alright... bumped into this forum yesterday and I almost immediately signed up, as I've been looking for a good 'Jimi forum' for quite some time now... and this one sure seems to be a very good one. ..... First of all, I'm a relatively new fan, so you'll have to excuse me if I ask something obvious/stupid... ...I'm a 21 year old fella from Finland, and though I have been listening to some random songs from Jimi for the past three/four years, I never quite gotten into him before I got out of the army... which was only about a year ago. But since then I've collected most of his officially released CDs, and what a journey it has been to go through them all... I listen to Jimi on daily basis, but something tells me I'm not the only one. ;)

Also great to see you have members in here who actully saw the man live... always a pleasure to read personal memories... and I thank you for the stories I have already read in here... excellent stuff!! Alright then... :D

Oh most definitely do I have to throw my two cents in on this...I am a guitar teacher/player here in Tn. and am beyond "Certified" as Roland is. Jimi is all over my walls and the 300 disc changer is about a third full of Mr. Hendrix! I first heard Axis,Bold As Love when I was about 5 or 6 years old. My big sister had a copy she got from a boyfriend (Old Tri color Reprise) and never gave it back. It was dusty and has a few scuffs but plays well for a record of its age. The music scared the life out of me as a little kid. But it was a precursor clearly for what was to come in my life. My Brother played drums in a popular local band and I eventually learned sax and then guitar and my music taste grew as well as me. Then fast forward past my musical youth and a stint in the service...I'm living in Denver and go see SRV/Jeff Beck at the Mcnichols arena. Stevie plays an awesome version of VooDoo Chile SR at the end of the show. I was hooked forever at this point if not before. Jimi is the Asteroid that came and hit the planet and changed the whole face of it forever musically. Wham!!!! No more surf music forever.
So now I can play the whole Axis album and not get scared at all!!

Cool place, it's an old civil war era house that was a hospital for Union Soldiers and it's HAUNTED! A soldier was shot there and his grave is in front of the house and a historical monument. Guided me right to it and that guitar has it's share of stories like most do. I've always wondered if he may have played it at some point. Highly unlikely but possible. With big strings on it and played straight into the Twin It sounds EXACTLY like his tone on so many recordings. Except for the fingers doing it of course.

Thanks 63strat, welcome aboard. Thanks for uploading your pix. I started to play classic guitar when I was 16 and later started to play bass. Now I picked up the 6 string again, but I have a lot to learn still.

Newbie here,First noticed Jimi back in 1966,The "Ready Steady Go" show,Later easter 67 I was woken by my brother, Who had gone to see Jimi at The Tabernacle Club in Stockport England, He bent my ear soooo much !!, At school there was 2 camps Eric Clapton/Jimi Hendrix, Most went for Eric, Jimi was described as an 'electrician not a guitarist' lol, Never got chance to see him live...damn, But have missed my rent many times to aqquire Jimi items (sound familiar ?). Hopefully I can add to this site, The odd photo for the gallery & a Jimi In Manchester piece...but dont hold your breath...i'm pretty green on the pc.............stay groovy

allow me to introduce myself...my name is eddie and im a jimi junkie...my addiction started while i was in jr. high during the late 80's when i watched jimi on mtv's closet classics doing the live version of "hey joe" from the marquee club in 67'...shortly thereafter,i saw "a film about jimi hendrix" and was immediately strung out! it got really got bad after that as i starved myself from lunch for a week and used the money to purchase a copy of the british version of jimi's "smash hits" on cassette at rasputins records in berkeley,ca...since then i have sunk deeper and deeper into my habit spending a small fortune on jimi cassettes, albums, vhs tapes,cd's,dvd's,books,posters,t-shirts,sweatshirts and magazines that either have jimi on the cover or feature articles about Sir James Marshall...i have even bought the jimi hendrix collectible dolls(todd mcfarlane edition),post cards and also a key chain...i must admit im sick but also must admit that as of right now i dont want any help!!:p

OK, here I am, Tejo Wessels, 60 years old, from Holland and Hendrix junkie since 1966.
The first and last time I see Jimi was in 1967 Rotterdam.
I travelled a lot and since 5 years I live in Thailand. Here a picture from my wife, my son, and me (about 1 month ago).
