View Full Version : 1970-06-13 Baltimore 2nd source

This is the 2nd audio source from Baltimore 1970.

Its probably the worst sounding of the 4 known audio sources, but it is the only source that includes some songs from the support acts. There are several dropouts and some volume-overloading on MG. Still very listenable.

Low but unknown gen.

Tracklist -

1 Unknown title - Ballin' Jack (not 100% sure)
2 One way or the other - Cactus
3 Oleo - Cactus

4-18 Hendrix' set.

Thanks to HPJohnse for these discs.
Thanks to Papi for identifying the Cactus tracks.

If anyone knows the support act songtitles or performers to be listed incorrectly here i'd love to hear from you, Thanks!

If you've never heard this concert, this is not the best source to start with. You would be better off checking this torrent of the 1st source instead:

@firstrays: there are 4 known audio sources, 1 8mm film and 3 photos from this show known to exist (to me, so there might be more)

@ganoosh: do you agree with the support act's song title-ing? are these the Cactus tracks as you know them? and what is KAK (its something i rather not translate from Dutch->English)??

Well now that you mention it, Oleo (track 3) seems to be missing the first half, the file only contains the bass solo towards the end of the song.

As for KAK, - "Prior to joining Blue Cheer, guitarist/vocalist Gary Lee Yoder, was a founding member of Kak, one of the most talented, versatile and underrated of all the psychedelic bands to come out of California in the 1960s. The group was together for only one year, and left behind a legacy of only a single album, Kak'ola", which is now highly sought-after."

This show is one of my absolute faves. Just curious, with 4 sources around, has anybody ever attempted doing a merge-version of this show?

06-17-08, 03:22 AM
yes there is a 4 source merge by Vibratory, which is not bad, but the 1st source is stereo already by itself and better sounding than the 4 combined. the hall's acoustics get in the way of making a really nice merge IMO.

many thanks on the 'sources' info.

Hi, could someone help seed this torrent? I've collected the other sources for the '70 Baltimore show, but haven't been able to download this one. (Although the tracker shows there is one seeder, I'm never able to connect...)
Many thanks!
