Here is the follow-up on Jupiter's Sulphur Mines - The KPFA Tapes
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Jimi Hendrix - The Voodoo Chile Sessions- May 1968.

http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii33/paul56_bucket/voodootrayoq2.jpg

Band Name : Jimi Hendrix Experience
Venue : Record Plant, New York.
Date : Thursday 2nd, Friday 3rd may 1968
Source: My Hendrix collection
Lineage: Master > cassette > DAT > CDR > Soundstudio > Shorten > SHN > FLAC

As far as I know (and given my source) the details above are correct. However I think there may well be two cassette copies in the lineage.

Taped by: Eddie Kramer
Transfered by: Unknown

File Size: 414 MB(FLAC)

Setlist:

A. Voodoo Chile (blues session) (2.5.68)
B. Voodoo Chile (slight return) (session) Takes 1-21 (3.5.68)

Notes:

You will find 24 files altogether. Sorry that's the way I indexed them. These sessions have been well abused on various bootleg releases - you may well find the quality of this slightly better.

NB: These _have not_ been taken from any bootleg release!

Someone asked me if I could post this material, so here it is. Hope you like it.

The cover is included. Sorry for those of you who are not into origami but I got a little carried away with this one and it includes an 8 page booklet. All photos were taken during the EL recordings sessions at the Record Plant.

P.S. [* Although this lineage most likely is correct there may be two cassette copies in there, in which case this is 2nd Gen.]

- The original artwork for this set indicates there are 18 tracks on the CD but there are only 16.

Special thanks to Five for sharing !

...and you could add a very very special thanx to Jon P. for providing the original source and torrented it a few years back at defunct STG :-)

Now my question :

Anybody here own this other release of the same material :

Courtesy from HP site :

Voodoo Chile & Voodoo Chile (Slight Return) - One Inch Master Tapes (Collector's Disc [OIM/TIM 001] / 2003 / 1CDR)
(Outtakes, Record Plant, New York City, NY 01.05.68 & 03.05.68; "Voodoo Chile"- and "Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)" (1-3, 5-16, 18-21) Sessions - 25 tracks; 72:59) Master or Very Low Gen
notes:
- Upgrade of previously circulated versions of these sessions

I'm wondering if OIM/TIM 001 collector disc is still/reallly an "Upgrade of previously circulated versions of these sessions"....and if so is it source from a "known lower gen" than Jon's source?

Paul, try the "word search" with your browser on "Archive -> Audio Torrents" page
(Edit -> Find on this page -> type for example the word "Voodoo"
and you'll get the following results:
01. Jimi Hendrix - Voodoo Blues 3
02. Jimi Hendrix - The Voodoo Chile Sessions- May 1968.
03. The Voodoo Chile Sessions- May 1968 (your torrent)

By the way, such torrents as this one are not called "re-seeds" but DUPLICATES.
"Re-seed" is when you re-torrent an old title that has once been available but not anymore (it's dead or moved) and you're making it available again.

I am not an expert on Jimi Hendrix like most of you, so I need to clarify, some questions please ...

1. These are duplicates (as Emilovious):
a. Jimi Hendrix - The Voodoo Chile Sessions- May 1968. [2008 0130 (falo)], http://crosstowntorrents.org/showthread.php?t=116
b. The Voodoo Chile Sessions- May 1968 [2008 0625 (paul56)], http://crosstowntorrents.org/showthread.php?t=572

2. Both are the same as The Voodoo Chile Sessions (Jon's Attic @ STG 013 / 22.03.2004 / 1CDR) - "99.9%; edit: all good now: 100%" (as rocknroll said).

3. Can you confirm dates please?...
a. Jon's Attic: Outtakes, Record Plant, New York City, NY 01.05.68 & 03.05.68
b. CTT: Venue : Record Plant, New York. Date : Thursday 2nd, Friday 3rd may 1968

4. In this context how should we consider (as sessionsman also asks)
Voodoo Chile & Voodoo Chile (Slight Return) - One Inch Master Tapes (Collector's Disc [OIM/TIM 001] / 2003 / 1CDR)?

Thanks in advance anyone who can engage with my questions! Greetings from Brazil!
