Shame so little credit is given to Ike Zimmerman (four recorded songs of Robert Johnson should actually be credited to Ike) who taught Robert all that he knew.

It was from Ike that the legend of learning after a deal at a crossroads apparently derives.

"An extremely fragile, three-inch-by-four-inch photo that bore no identifying marks that could be traced to a photographer’s studio, no date stamp that could establish when the picture had been taken, no provenance whatsoever save for a note from the seller saying he’d purchased the photo in Atlanta."

A key piece of provenance has been left unexamined. Where in Atlanta did the seller purchase the photo of Robert Johnson?!
I'm not saying it isn't authentic, just say'in why didn't he investigate further?

Thanks for this article. I never knew about this Ike Zimmerman before. Wait, Ike Zimmerman/father of the blues/Robert Zimmerman/Bob Dylan's Grandmother-it's somehow all making sense now...

Thanks for the link ...
some years back some film footage surfaced that maybe had R.J. in it...it was viewed in the "Hellhounds On My Trail'(1998) video,(there is only like 3 videos that I know of that deal with Robert Johnson) which was a tribute concert thing for R.J., in the middle of it they showed the film and asked people if they thought it was him....turned out not to be him, but was a little interesting to see.
