Got your JPIO email also -
I don't see the big deal . . . Really dude- I've seen lots worse.
Maybe they give you super human guitar playing powers when you put them on. . . . .

Actually, I'd LOVE to see my wife walk in & "finally" show her appreciation for Jimi [AND me] by having them on :D
THAT would be the start of a PARTY!!!!! :rasta: :rasta:
My final thought - Big deal . . . Go learn the riffs for Wait Until Tomorrow or Castled Made of Sand [come see me when you do] and stay off eBay :)

Is not that "Castle" intro riff one of the most satisfying things to do on this entire planet when you finally can pull it off?? Yes?
You relax, float down stream a bit, go off "In search of" and look what you can come up with . .
One of the most beautiful melodies I have ever heard. That one was a gift from the Universe :)
Thank You Jimi :rasta:

You don't understand the purpose of the "nonsense". It's a form of ADVERTISING your product.

When you wear a t-shirt with a product logo on the front (Nike, Rebock, Coca Cola, Xerox, Playstation, etc, you are ADVERTISING that product.

The "nonsense" with Jimi's name on it puts HIS product "in the eye and mind of the public" who are potential buyers of the product.

How many times have you seen somebody wearing a t-shirt with a logo on it and you asked them "what's that" and they then explain it it you. Once You know what it is, you may be interested enough to check the product.

Well, it's the same with Jimi's name. There are many musiclovers out there who aren't familiar with his music. They see something with his name on it, and ask "who's that" and they get an explaination of this great guitarist who made great music. That person in turn my decide to check out the music, and BANG, you have a new Jimi Fan who will start buying Jimi product.

It's all about building a fan base to buy Jimi's Music! It's not just about making money selling junk.

Hey! I have a set of 'officially licensed' Jimi Hendrix pj's that my kids gave me for X-Mas ages ago. Needless to say I was 'shocked' (and grateful). And this was BEFORE the creation of EH. Never bothered to check out who was licensing his stuff out at that time. Still have them too. :wook:

Underwear - key word being "under"..., I guess next time I'm walking down the street naked apart from my Jimi Hendrix boxer shorts I'll explain it to all the girls who flock around me......, :-)

I can't agree with your point. Yes, marketing and spreading the music but there's got to be some taste. I think EH could market the music and spread the word without decending into trivia. We're talking about one of the greatest and most influential musicians who ever lived. Compare him to other greats - when was the last time you saw J.S.Bach Beverages or Mozart Mocca Coffee??

In my opinion the music is enough - EH should release the Albert Hall with a huge campaign, people who've never heard of Jimi Hendrix (and there must be a few) will wonder what it's all about and that will spread the word....., and the music.
