    Re: Wanted: Univibes #1, 54, 56

Still chasing #54, the Marshall amps issue which never seems to come up for sale. Name your price! Otherwise I have good copies of out-of-print issues #6, 36 & 49 to trade.

    Re: Prince

Wore the influence as a badge of honour for a while, it was unmistakable. But it never felt like a rip-off, was talented enough to forge his own unique musical identity.

    Also a prolific recorder....
  3. Re: Foxy Papers Volume 3 book hits the stands.

    Got mine today, thanks Ben.

Flicking through at random, came across this gem of a review of the Feb 9 1968 L.A. show by an Amanda Spake... After potting each of the support acts in turn, Amanda...

Re: Jimi Hendrix: Electric Church - DVD/Blu-Ray

There's snippets from Dick Cavett and the Harlem interview from nearly a year before, so surely Berkeley's part of some sort of timeline/scene-setting thing. Atlanta's so dark, apparently with a gap...

Re: Directory of a Hard Drive

Thanks to Lord Summerisle for his kind assistance in facilitating a copy of the drive. Happy to do likewise for anyone else out this way (Australia).

Pass it on, pass it on
  7. Re: PPX And RSVp Sessions March 25 2015 Legacy sony

Title hints at a ripoff of Stormy Monday. No such luck.
  8. Re: BOG only booked for one night initially - advert

Keith Shadwick's Musician claims Hendrix signed a contract on December 4 to appear on two nights. The first show at least was apparently intended to be a "warm-up" show, and the late show was...
  9. Re: The Night I met Jimi Hendrix (Hartford 3/22/68)

Memory may be playing tricks given there were so few concert regulars on the album.
  10. Re: Snap Galleries offer Can You See Me? Jimi Hendrix by Donald Silverstein: Ltd Ed B

Arrived today, unique id #66. Might post some pics later on if nobody else does.

Is the quality agreeable? Yes. Is it worth the money? At face value, no. Some of the value comes from the feeling...

    Re: R.I.P Dallas Taylor

"Now I want to tell an incident that happened in Knoxville over 15 years after I left Jimi Hendrix's bass player." A decent slap. Even while in God's good graces she doesn't deign to dignify Noel...
  14. Re: John McDermott on what's next from the Jimi Hendrix archives

Yeah what is with that tone? Was it something in the sound system or the way it was recorded?

    Re: Jimi's "clunkers?"

Didn't Eddie Kramer say something like, "Imagine sitting through 45 takes of that", or similar? Maybe it wasn't meant to be disparaging, but it came out that way. I mean, it's a song that never gets...

    Re: Jimi's "clunkers?"

Much of his post-Electric Ladyland stuff was below par IMO, lyrically if not musically, possible due in part to so little of it being completed to his satisfaction. Pushed to name one I don't like......

    Re: 'Hendrix Now' book Kickstarter

Hendrix books are a niche market. Seems legitimate enough if you're artistically inclined and want to pay lasting homage by publishing a book. I doubt there's much profit in it.

Good job on the English translations of foreign language articles.

After much to and fro and failing to justify the expense, have bitten the bullet and ordered one anyway. Discounted price still available.
