So you already have the Miami release, what are you going to ask for Christmas?
You've been a CTT member for years, at some point you found out about those 'Vibratory Merges' which were quite revolutionary at the time, they showed a deep passion for Hendrix and could only be made by people with the right amount of dedication. You also noticed Johanincr's many uploads to CTT, pleasant surprises most of the time right?
Well these guys have partnered up again to create something they could never quite get from a storebought product, namely a Germanium Fuzz to their liking.
Some months ago we started out building these things to our own specifications of what we considered to sound good. To be honest there was a learning curve involved, and we couldnt get it right in the beginning. After some lengthy rounds of experimentation however we started to hear those sounds we had in mind all along coming from our guitar amps. Sounds so pleasing to our ears that we decided - lets let others have a chance to experience what we're experiencing here!
From one thing came the next, and pretty soon we found ourselves testing hundreds of Germanium transistors from different era's and makers. We found out for ourselves how much variation there is in even the same types, same brands, and that for a Fuzz to sound anywhere near what we considered 'Good' it would require a lot more testing and experimentation.....The Fuzz circuit itself is a very simple one, no question about it, but to get it to sound great instead of just 'oh it distorts' has been quite the journey.
But we got there in the end!
We have a grand total of 10 Fuzzes made now, which we dare say Jimi would be very pleased to use.....and we'd like for CTT members to get the first chance of getting one of these for their rig. We created a pretty basic site where you can actually see many steps in the process of making these, along with some samples (many more to come, very soon!) played by Patrizio, that guy you might only know as 'Vibratory'.
A couple of Fuzzes have been sent to friendly guitar players we adore, no surprise they're CTTers too....but more about that later as the reviews start rolling in. There's much more that can be said but I'm not going to do that here and now. Even if you're just remotely curious, please visit the site we made, Sonus Pedals
While I do have some of our Sonus 1968 Fuzz units as well as vintage 60s-70s Wahs on offer on Ebay right now, we want to give CTT members the chance to get one of our Fuzzes at a 15% discount compared to the prices we list on the site. So if you're still reading this and your curiosity remains after visiting our site and checking out some samples and pictures, send a PM to either Patrizio or Johan and we'll work something out.
We wont ever be able to make many of these, as we do everything ourselves and by hand obviously, and we dont want to compromise on the sound.
Which means we'll have to throw out many more Germanium transistors than we already did! :-)
To not further stretch the boundaries of attention-span, I'll leave it at this for now.
When we have updates about the goings-on I'll post something about it, back to the Fuzz-lab for me now! :-)
Here is one example of the sounds produced by the units we have ready to go, we hope you enjoy!
Thanks very much for your time and consideration,
Johan & Patrizio
(If you think these look good, they SOUND better than they look!)
