'Your Page' [letters] 'Progress' and 'Reader's Club' [pen pals] surprisingly international, they were asked to list their favourite 'Stars' not many put Jimi.

Monkees, no mention of support acts, apart from some inane DJs!

A very rare and early US review of Hey Joe (4 out of 5 disliked it). clear text is 6b.
Note: 'Ciao Baby' by The Montanas was featured along with Hey Joe on the early 'Best of British' US 'trade' ad - HJ was bottom of the list of 5. Lynn Randell, whose version is reviewed here (4 out of 5 liked it), was support act along with Jimi on the Monkees tour dates. Regina was the only one with taste

Eric Burdon is finally off the bill, replaced by 'Jeramy Steig and Satyrs' [sic], but still no Jimi.

'Jimmy Hendricks' is on the bill at last minute, though the cabaret section has not been informed in time, they still have the Animals [ie Eric Burdon] down.

That hair again (another cartoon), this story was one of the most widely syndicated in 1967, even appearing as late as 1968

R&B chart survey (p.5) and p.2 'Readers Club' [pen-pals page] - was surprisingly quite international. They were asked to state their favourite music "Stars", very few contributors listed Jimi and few of them were women.

    Re: Newspaper & Magazine Article Scans: 1960's - 1970's

John Hammond: “In 1967 I put a little band together – John Hammond and the Screaming Nighthawks – it was a power trio… not so powerful but we had a good time.”

“At one point Eric Clapton was in New York as well and both of them jammed with us for two nights in a row at the Gaslight. It was amazing…What were the two of them playing? Blues, man, straight, heavy, blues.”

“He came in with a wad of money, I remember. Charles Otis had loaned him some money before he left so Jimi paid him back. Charles told me Jimi pulled out a roll with hundred and thousand dollar bills and said ‘Here, man, take what you need,’ and Charles took the $40 he had loaned Jimi and said, ‘No, that’s cool, man’ - but it sure impressed Charles forever.”

Hugh Romney (later the Merry Prankster “Wavy Gravy”) was/is? a spacy stand-up comedian. I would love to hear his 1962? LP 'Third Stream Humour' (on wacky ‘World Pacific Records’, who brought you the (1960) 45, 'LSD-25' b/w 'Moondawg!’ by the Gamblers (and you'll never hear surf music again - ha-ha-ha)) but I have only ever come across the same, 4 minutes long, edit.

Sometime Between 24-07-67 and 03-07-67. I have 26 & 27, can’t remember where I got these dates from off hand.
