My point is that it's obviously bogus that the Jimi portion sat undeveloped in a barn. It's been released before!!! The advertising is misleading. - But what else is new...

from 'The Great Speckled Bird'(the Bird) July 5 1970
which was an underground newspaper people would sell around the Atlanta area...
it is mentioned a few times in the beginning of the doc....I was trying to find the issue that has the Jimi Hendrix interview(if it even exists) they mentioned that 'the Bird' interviewed him.
there is an archive of copies to read/download here:

anyway....until I or someone can come up with a broadcast capture this will have to do
    don't have to download...it'll play
sorry I just don't have a decent TV card to attach the DVR to...
NOTE: it probably will look a bit better if downloaded rather than streamed but if your hurting for bandwidth you may want to for go it.

To see the complete doc you have to download it or transfer it to your dropbox (what I did).

Thanks to J. Lucas again! can't wait to see it again in full quality...

Watching it now. Nice little documentary about Jimi, the festival, and the town of Byron. Calling this a documentary is a little misleading. About 35 to 40 minutes of info, and then the concert. I would prefer to see the entire concert, worts and all, but the look and especially the sound are much improved. Making it a really nice Hendrix concert to watch.

Released only in Japan by another regime so that makes it unreleased to EH.

I love listening to all the interviews. People who were involved have such cool stories to tell. And the audio is just superlative. The image quality is better than I thought, too. Very enjoyable!

Man... Imagine standing there under the open sky, fireworks exploding in the air, Jimi tearing into SSB...
For some reason, i always thought the fireworks were superimposed onto the footage of Jimi and the band. Now i can see it wasnt... Must have been special for the band too.

It was released in Europe on both VHS and Laserdisc, but I guess they also consider Loose Ends unreleased..

Re: Jimi Hendrix: Electric Church - DVD/Blu-Ray

I am still not sure why they decided to frame the documentary around Electric Church idea when that was kind of done by 1969 and I can't remember even being referred to in any 1970 show, let alone Atlanta - I am happy to be corrected - off the top of my head there...But while the ethos may have been there, I thought that was kind of bogus, and had a very tenuous link to the "wow who are these people" Georgia audience discussed by talking heads. I do like to hear the history behind these festivals etc, but I think these becoming increasingly interesting only to the hardcore really. I tuned out and was listening for the alternate instrumentals running under the dialogue...including real instrumentals of Somewhere, Stone Free before being "mashed up"...well they are so short it is hard to tell without me properly checking if it is not just instrumental sections used...

    Electric Church documentary

Does anyone know where this bit of footage is from that was shown on the Showtime special? I don't remeber seeing it before. I took a snap:

I nominate the cameraman who decided to shoot the close ups of Jimi's hands for a Universal Award of Eternal Gratitude.

I find it kinda weird that Susan Tedeschi, who wasn`t born when Jimi died, should be allowed to burble on & on!
Any idea why she was picked?

Maybe Derek Trucks because he is a GREAT guitar player and Allman Bros - thus Atlanta Fest - connected?
And maybe Lady Tedeschi because of Derek's?
And maybe both and the heavy metal guy, from some heavy metal band, because they don't want the eventual kid who passes in front the tv set when his dad, or grandad...man... , is watching the doc to think that JImi is only old farts material?
Man...the concert was 45 years ago... when we think about it, is like someone releasing '35 footage in 1970

Ops! is like someone releasing a 1925 footage in 1970!?!
