    A conversation

At the weekend I went into a charity shop, where I found the male shop assistant, aged about 25, extolling the virtues of Roy Buchanan to a younger lad. He then made the mistake of saying 'Jimi Hendrix was pretty good, but not half as good as Buchanan'. Instantly, two ladies, who must have ben in their 60s, sped up to the counter & said, Excuse me, but it's NOT POSSIBLE for anyone to be a better guitarist than Jimi. They then proceeded to give him a lecture on Jimi's merits & said they'd seen him play many times. The poor assistant was rather taken aback & reduced to saying that he did listen to Jimi sometimes. Well, listen more closely next time, they retorted & left the shop giggling like teenagers.
Ah, Jimi still has the power to arouse passions!

Two ladies in their 60`s, + me (62) We know, coz we was there!!
Nobody, BUT NOBODY! could ever tell me (or them) that anybody
comes close to Jimi! Roy Buchanan, Stevie R Vaughn or any other
so-called Axe master, don`t even come close! Without Jimi they would
not have had the chance to believe they were any good, let alone make an album!

With most people, whoever they like, they consider to be the best guitar player ever.

Interesting.....about a few weeks ago I was playing Hendrix at work all night. The oldest guy there, about 60, told me the next day how much he enjoyed it and we proceeded to discuss Jimi for the next hour, to the delight of our coworkers. He said when Jimi first came out it was a total mind blower. People just couldn't believe it. Nice guy.
