Jimpress has reviewed on Amazon - no Hendrix on it at all!

Already released last March in the States only, the 50th anniversary LP of original "Band of Gypsys" will be on sale in France (so in Europe I presume) next June 6. Vinyl white, red and black but without the poster of the americain reissue.

Something quite strange in the "Band of Gypsys" 50th anniversary reissue :

The vinyl booklet is a text already in use. This may explain why John McDermott's words begin with : "Nearly three decades after his untimely death in September 1970...". But many will surely think of a gross miscalculation!

The credit on the back of the disc (very small) says 2010 but if you do the math right, you realize that the McDermott text is actually from... 2000.

Thatīs how the liner notes begin on the 1997 "Band Of Gypsys" Experience Hendrix CD release.

The reason is Yazid, this is a straight reissue of the 1997 BoG EH/ Classic plates. So the same booklet and essay from McDermott. Just an addition of the reproduction poster for the US pressings. The upcoming EU red vinyl release will be the same booklet no doubt but no poster as far as I am aware.

Shame about the lack of attention to detail yet again from EH / Sony!
