Yeah, I wanna see Woodstock with Larry Lee doing his numbers too; Mastermind and Gypsy Woman. They've got a good mood and I reckon they'd really help the viewer in getting a more complete, fuller appreciation of the whole experience, rather than some third person far removed's cutting room edit job with a couple of board room decisions thrown in for good measure.

Agreed, Jimi plays masterfully on both. Mastermind sounds like Lee's tribute to Jimi. Easily one of my favorite all time Jimi tunes. I love his octave rhythm style. You are correct about releasing an unedited show top to bottom including all banter. The listener can appreciate the Gypsy Sun and Rainbows' performance holistically. Jimi's playing that morning was en fuego.

    Re: Next Release?

I read that ther SACD of AYE is set for an April 2019 release and I now hear that the two ABAL UHQR's are about to be pressed up, leaves us with a likely release date of end of February 2019.

More accurate update. The UHQR's are targeted for a late march issue.

Lest we forget, "gypsy woman" was actually a medley of two different Impressions' songs - 'Gypsy Woman' and 'Aware of Love'

UHQR's stereo and mono set for April 2019.
The mono is pressed and packaged and waiting to ship when the stereo set is completed.

    Re: Next Release?

Things have gotten really quiet on the release front since ELL 50th. Can't really say the UHQR Axis was new since it took 18 months to get them released. Fall usually sees some sort of release for the XMAS season. Will we finally get the Maui release, something else or will they skip this cycle completely.

    Re: Next Release?

Janie did an interview for the "Both Sides of The Sky' release...last spring 3/18/18
for 21st Century Radio....at the end she talks about the upcoming EL 50th and the revamped
Rainbow Bridge doc....she says they went to Maui and interviewed people who were there(and of course Billy Cox)
she says it'll be like the Atlanta release, with interviews first then the concert footage
says it'll be released in 2019..I'm sure this info was posted here but if you missed the interview I uploaded it
    it's only 23mts long and in .mp3 format...it's only a 10mb download
    --
the thing I'm curios about is do they have all the video footage that Mitch overdubbed his drumming on
before they turned over to Wein before he castrated it...

    Re: Next Release?

Very much looks like the AYE SACD is about to hit the shops, end of January.

Can be preordered over at Analogue Productions.

Annoyingly, EH has decided to NOT include the mono mix as part of the SACD layer!

    Re: Next Release?

Hmmm I thought it was the other way around. Mono was on the SACD layer but not the CD layer. If your correct I am not expecting too much regarding the mono fidelity.

    Re: Next Release?

Actually the website of acoustic sounds is still worded as follows.

Includes both mono and stereo mixes Pure DSD sound! *cd layer contains stereo mix only

So unless you know something has changed from that press release it looks like the mono will be on the SACD layer.

    Re: Next Release?

My error, thanks for the timely correction!

Annoyingly, EH decided to not include the mono mix on the CD layer.

Given this mix has yet to appear in CD officially it seems to be an over sight in their part to opt for the stereo.

Just an excuse for a stand alone mono CD release at a later point?
