    Royal Albert Hall Jan,24, 1969 DVD 2016 ~ GYPSY EYES VERSION ~

Royal Albert Hall boot film NOTICE: - updated March 28, 2017
    New version for download.
    Changes from previous versions include...
less colour saturation and color bleed
less still photos / more slo motion and freeze frames instead
some areas have less contrast and noise reduction
I've never been able to successfully create a torrent link to this site so here is a mega link for the DVD...
    https://mega.nz/#F!SlJDgZjD!qikFXOyT349Cw7xWsRBHWA

Here is the link for the full uncompressed 12.3 gig file...
    https://vimeo.com/172231550

PS It is still not perfect (and meant to be viewed with a degree of patience). :-

I was happy with your last version.. I don't like the "shaky camera thing" and the "repetitive audience". I'll stick with that version, but, cheers to you for trying to be acquiescent, and attempting to satisfy the masses!! I enjoyed your artistic approach from the last edit...thanks again.

Awesome work and thanks for sharing!!

It's not just the torrent part that is fucked up. When the RSS feed has a link to
    http://crosstowntorrents.org/showthr...N&goto=newpost
    I get PHP errors:
Warning: Illegal string offset 'name' in [path]/includes/functions.php on line 6570
Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at [path]/includes/class_core.php:5588) in [path]/includes/functions.php on line 4100

I am a PHP programmer and know that this is easy to fix. (It happened when a later version of PHP became more strict when calling array elements that do not exist.)
Who has access to the scripts?

I have to delete everything after the topic ID to make it look like this:
    http://crosstowntorrents.org/showthread.php?26570
    and then it works.

I just want to get something close to 'right'. This FINAL FINAL version is still NOT perfect but it is close. I actually have tons of hobbies but I have put them on hold for a long time dicking with this. I am a musician (5-6 instruments), vocalist, songwriter, arranger, producer, video creator, painter etc.

The instructions for uploading and creating a torrent STILL suck!
I created a new torrent exactly as instructed, went to manage attachments, add attachment, upload attachment and it will not attach! IT says Upload Failed (as always). Seriously this is some fucked up shit here after 8 years it still sucks. I've tried uploading a jpg just to see.

when you post or edit a post...click on the 'insert image' button
I don't see your image and to get specific here, there is only 'manage attachments' no' insert image' or 'insert file' links/buttons.
I've tried on Google Chrome, Firefox, Opera...they all say fail upload or error. I've used Torrent Maker and uTorrent, adjusted the settings several times, researched several times the fail and error notifications. Still nothing. Needless to say, I have never uploaded a torrent before (I am ashamed to admit).
Here is a mega link. Maybe one of you kind souls can do a proper torrent for this since it is obviously so much more efficient.

I would like to hear if someone possibly likes the "old" (color "saturated") version(s)
better than the "Gypsy Eyes" version.
I can't make up my mind (or can I?). Maybe my eyes got used to more color-intensive
picture since I watched the old versions so many times. I also understand the value
(and beauty) in preserving as many details possible in "Gypsy Eyes" version but still...
I see these two versions as different "production approaches" and I'd like to hear
    other people's opinions...

the only version missing is the Japanese 2003 one that had 'Hey Joe' and 'Manic Depression'bonus
    ATM had no extras
Master Series had 5.1 audio and had audio only bonus & rehearsal audio only bonus
Roomful of Hendrix had 5.1 audio and audio/slideshow bonus(worst video, more video tape noise and even video tears like it was copied from a worn out tape
    Kurt Max resych'd audio(no extras)
    --
each has different cropping & lighting

new source 2014:comparison of 1st and current edit.

    The 1st 'new source' version suffered from 'lines' than ran thru out the whole video...these were 'de-noised' out in the 2nd version;
and more contrast and color tweaking continued from the 2nd to the final(4th) new source version there has been different edits of the still and slow motion parts...the final even has a few slow motion parts created added to it.

Re: Royal Albert Hall Jan,24, 1969 DVD 2016 ~ GYPSY EYES VERSION ~

A most excellent question. Thank you very much for posting the comparison shots. As the editor and colour corrector of these latest versions, I am supremely interested in this subject. If you look at the first set of examples (the close up) you will see a lot of green, red and video noise in his hair. The same applies to all the darkest parts of ALL the footage (lots of green, red, video noise). I just did not dig that and intentionally opted to make that black instead of all those colours that aren't really supposed to be there. There are pros and cons to either version. You can see in the last two stage shots. In the first one the guy kneeling down taping the stage and he has green all over his legs. There was never any real green on his legs! So I opted to hammer the contrast to make his legs black. Yes, you lose some details but at the same time...the guy does not have green legs anymore! :-) Also, you can't just take out a bunch of green because that turns everything too purple etc. etc. Tough decisions but that's what I went with. I studied many colour still photos taken at the gig to compare the actual colours there based on the still photos. I determined there was quite a bit more blue going on than what the video implied. That is why you see more blue in those final examples. Sometimes whilst editing I split the difference to retain a bit of the vintage original charm rather than simply try to ultra modernize the look.
Regarding the cropping...who wants that line of distortion at the bottom of the screen? So, I enlarged the cropping just to the point of removing the video noise and distortions surrounding the frame. I may have gone a couple of pixles too far but the scene distortion varied.
PS To my shock I think there were several major out of sync segments on 2 songs in the Gypsy Eyes version. So, regrettably I have had to make corrections to it and build another DVD. I have just done that and still can not upload a torrent link! So I'm uploading it to Mega and will post the link when it's done uploading (maybe someone can do a torrent since I can't). Again, fantastic question.
PPS The Room Full of Hendrix DVD was odd because the person who made it (4reel Prod) used all the slowmotion effects I created (in HMTAC etc.) and spliced them into his version. Hah! I was really surprised when I saw that.

    Hi Kurt,
big thank you for all your hard work on these DVD versions, really appreciate it.
After all your hard work I didn't like to mention(and thought it could just be my download) but I noticed Bleeding Heart (Peoples, Peoples, Peoples) was out of sinc (vocally). But big thank you again - stay sane!

IT was in sync earlier and I must have accidentally dragged a video clip a few frames without realizing it. I was only spot checking the DVD.
