His YT account was apparently closed because of some Jimi material he had on there which is/was available from EH. None of the resyncs though, afaik.

Anyone got a copy of jamminjimi's (resynched with better sound) Stora Scenen, 8/31/70 B&W video?

Dont think that one's been done yet stplsd, it certainly could do with a audio upgrade.

Re: Experience JamminJimi - New Bits & Pieces

Love these JamminJimi projects, he really makes the best use of the (unfortunately) small amount of footage we have of a lot of these performances. As far as EH goes, I sort of walk the line between being an EH basher and being appreciative of a lot of what they do. There's no doubt a lot of their remastering and editing practices are questionable but I understand their desire to try to appeal to the general public and sell product. Obviously Alan Douglas was no purist either. But they have released some very nice things on Dagger and they have given their blessing to allowing this site and others to operate, giving us fan-attics the opportunity to hear the Man in his purest form.
In these tough times, I'd rather download this for the price of a blank DVD than pay $12 for some artwork and the EH logo LOL!
And if they don't want to hire JamminJimi we will gladly and gratefully continue to accept his contributions to this site!

That Newport footage is amazing! Just the four or so seconds of that awesome moment was worth the download. You can tell by the expression on his face that he's having an awesome time foolin around. Also some cool Dolly footage at Isle of Wight. Thanks!

He's playin' Tax Free at the start of Denver! Awesome!!

In this hypothetical EH scenario, would they release this exact disc, or add the other JJ resyncs for the uber-DVD? And would it be as straightforward as this release or would they foo-foo it up with animated menus and interviews and stuff? Ah, hell, I'd probably buy it either way.

Re: Experience JamminJimi - New Bits & Pieces

In this very hypothetical (more like utopian) situation, JJ would have access to the actual master footage sources and sync those, so the end result would have no timercodes and all that.
What makes it harder is ofcourse that EH doesnt actually have better sources for a lot of the 8mm material than the collectors have (i.e. the ones we're already watching).
If there's room left on the 4DVD-set i could do with interviews of the amateur filmers - and Jammin' - uhmmm all hypothetically :-)

Re: Experience JamminJimi - New Bits & Pieces

Wonder if the part about Jimi saying "Her breath smelt like wet pu**y" in "Gloria" would pass the "revised Jimi" test over there at EH? LOL!
BTW, how does JJ sift through this footage and find just the right spots where the music comes in out of the whole show? It would drive me bonkers...

I would hazard a guess that Universal Music had their lawyers look around YouTube for unauthorized Jimi stuff, because of new material & new reissues being released right about that time. It's happened before with other bands. A couple months go by, and all the usual stuff shows up again.

It's not 'wet' it's 'wolf' Jimi was recorded using this phrase several times, as in the Paul Cruso 'Dirty Tape':
Jimi: "You’ve been eatin’ wolf pu**y for too many years ha-ha I think ha-ha… that’s where you got that scar up the side of your face, man, you were tryin’ to eat a wolf’s pu**y out last night...etc.

    Simply amazing. Many thanks.

BTW isn't it HIS (i.e. Noel's) breath smelt like wolf/wet pu**y? I'll have to check.

I wouldn't pay for this by itself, but these videos would make a great bonus feature on a DVD. They should put something together like the Led Zeppelin DVD.
