    Re: 50th Anniversary Edition ??

looks strange to me....why not release both stereo and mono releases....
either US stereo and US mono, UK stereo UK mono...or all 4 in one box.
plus a CD of out takes from both LP's.
also the original US release isn't as described....don't know where they got their info. from.

It was from Demonoid and I have actually messaged the chap and asked him some questions including what you mention.
I myself thought it was a bit suss but was curious why they would say the 50th Anniversary considering so many of us are waiting patiently to see what will be pumped out.

OH...OK...it's just their own personal BS then...
AYE has been released so many times with different formats(CD/LP/CD/DVD)track listings(added singles) and different mixes(original EK/AD/another EK mix) I can't count them...
The only thing that hasn't been officially released are the AYE sessions and a 5.1 mix(which is probably not possible)
As far as I'm concerned...If EH isn't going to release them this year then they will never release them.

    Re: 50th Anniversary Edition ??

EH's track record since the SONY deal for the most part has followed this yearly pattern. a.) one major release in the late winter/spring. b.) Rereleases with less promotion and fanfare in the summer and c) a major release in the fall. The just released Dagger takes care of a) and the Maui documentary will most likely be c)

That leaves the summer for a 50th anniversary re-release . So I think it's possible we will get something in the summer. It looks like the first CD is the USA release plus the tracks from the USA Smash Hits album that weren't on AYE and the 2nd CD looks like the UK release plus the singles that weren't on the UK release. One in stereo and One in Mono. This looks like a legit way to do a re-release,,,, Not what I prefer though. I want unreleased outtakes from AYE. Or maybe we already have them all from the Out In The Studio 1 and 2 boots? Maybe Axis 50th will get re-released at same time as Maui documentary too?.....

They could put out a very nice package for the anniversary but I don't hold any hope for one. Look at what The Beatles are doing for Pepper....

It seems EH are not interested in anniversaries like other record companies.
I've moved on and will just continue to play what recordings I have from Are You Experienced.
Looking forward very much in the next few weeks listening to the 50th anniversary of Sgt Pepper

I bought the new double vinyl Sgt Pepper's and love it. But it also makes me mad to think that "Electric Ladyland" may never get such loving treatment. Fuck Janie.

ELL is a different matter. What they missed was AYE, THE REAL and ORIGINAL release.

Would have been interesting to look at the vinyl and know how it sounded. Its possible that the vinyl may have been effected by never being opened in such a long time!

Treat this as a load of bullshit opinion.
Failed to get an original mono Track Records pressing.
Failed to match mono with mono.
Failed with an open mind SO INCLUDED 100%OPINION, which is not a review or a basis to make recommendation.
Failed to bring a Barclay mono to the table but introduced the pressing to his "review".
Failed to listen to a Barclay and states some unknown's opinion.
Failed to state just which pressing is said to be the "better" listen of the Barclay pressings.
Failed to include just what the basis of opinion was for the Barclay in terms of the playback set up. [including room acoustics and age of ears!]

Man, I feel just like CG, ha ha, ha!

    Re: 50th Anniversary Edition ??

Since EH failed to acknowledge the 50th anniversary of this landmark album, I thought I’d give a shot at putting together the ‘ultimate’ version of AYE.

So what can I say? The mono disc has turned out *miles* better than my 2013 version and I think the stereo disc improves on any official digital version, mostly thanks to George Marino’s brilliant 2010 mastering that appeared only on vinyl.

Also a new essay about the mono masters. Yes, I really do believe this is my most important work so far, or ever.

Prof. Stoned: mono RUX never sounded so good before (to my ears at least). I'll leave my comments on your blog after listening a few more times carefully. Thanks a million!!!!

We are lucky there are some beautiful people out there with a passion to share their love of music in ways no record companies can ever do.
    God bless Prof Stoned
