In the September issue of Mojo, John says "...the engineer just rolled the tapes and got hours and hours of noodling."
So more to the jam session than the half an hour or so that we know from the bootlegs! I wonder if John's pick-up (on his acoustic guitar) was faulty throughout the entire session.
