    Angry Suspicious

A music industry friend of mine called to say "I found an old reel-to-reel tape of Jimi Hendrix. I know you have a reel-to-reel tape can I come over and hear it? I think it might be something rare."

"Sure," I say "But before you come over, can you tell me anything about it?"

"It's got 8 songs on it!"

    "Any titles?"

'''Suspicious', 'Hot Trigger', 'Wipe the Sweat', 'Under the Table' . . . etc. etc."

    Re: Suspicious

Ok so my friend brought his tape over and it's a little more interesting than what I'd anticipated. It looks to me like a studio safety copy of the album "The Early Years".

The tracks on the tape are shown as:
    TRACK A
    1. Under The Table
    2. Suspicious
    TRACK B
    1. Suspicious (conclusion)
    2. Bring Back My Baby
    TRACK C
    1. Bring Back My Baby (conclusion)
    2. Voice in the Wind
    TRACK D
    1. Wipe The Sweat
    2. Not Trigger (sic) probably "Hot Trigger"

I was unable to play it because my two track home reel-to-reel couldn't handle this oversize studio reel.

He says he was given the tape by Calvin "Fuzzy" Samuel, who is his brother-in-law and who was Steven Stills bass player.

My friend is interested in selling this tape. Do you think its worth anything? All offers will be considered!

Well given that a) Jimi barely plays on the album b) those recordings are widely available everywhere it can't be worth that much. But surely there are collectors that are into this kind of stuff anyway.
