    Isle of Wight 1970 8mm

I have a copy of 8mm colour fottage from this concert on video. Shows snippets of the first few songs up to Machine Gun, It's an old copy not synced and wrong speed.

Has this fottage appeared anywhere else on the web? Thanks

Can you upload it here or on YouTube? I'd like to see it.

This book says there's indeed 4 min 8mm colour footage from Isle of Wight concert https://books.google.it/books?id=JEd...ootage&f=false

Edit: the 8mm footage you're talking about it's also discussed here: http://crosstowntorrents.org/showthr...-white-footage

Finally found the Isle of Wight 8mm but was unable to transfer it for the moment
because of an equipment issue, so just tried a quick phone recording with unfortunately background lighting. Will get a better transfer but this is a taster, really like the section around 2.12.

    ..it's because of it's frame rate...usually 16fps unless Super 8 which is 18fps.
    normal motion is approx. 30fps.
go to the video Youtube link...then in 'settings'...... change the speed to .75 instead of normal.

Re: Isle of Wight 1970 8mm

Hi. Happy to say the video is being transferred today so it can be uploaded. But not to You Tube. I was informed today that video due to a copyright a take down notice has been issued by none other than Ben Valkhoff himself. Thanks Ben!! Ruin it for everyone else but not the collectors. How could this infringe? or is he working for EH that he can claim copyright for any silent 8mm recording relating to Jimi Hendrix.

I'm not sure what footage this really is.

Anyway, does Ben own this? If so he has every right to have it pulled from any site he wants it pulled from.

Hey Ben, since you are reading this, can you show us proof of ownership so we can better understand the situation? Thanks.

I'm not Ben! I asked a question rather than made a statement.

From what I understand the footage was filmed by Ben's brother, who deceased in 2005, after which Ben gained the copyright.

The video was removed from Youtube because the film has been licensed to reelinintheyears.

Isle of Wight 8mm New Sync

The famous Jimi Hendrix filmed at the Isle of Wight Pop Festival in the early hours of the 31st of August 1970 just 18 days before his untimely death at the age of 27. While not one of his best concerts of the 1970 European Tour it does have its highlights. This footage was filmed with an old 8mm or possibly 16mm silent movie camera, I have a copy of this silent archive material on a very old video and has been recently synced to the original soundboard recording by another Hendrix fan called Giacomo Greggio.

I know some people as always will complain about the quality or some other small technical imperfection, but please watch it for its historical significance, I might get a better transfer at a later date but for now you can view the five and a half minutes of synced footage at https://vimeo.com/292818786

    Thanks

Re: Isle of Wight 8mm New Sync

Vimeo has removed or disabled access to the video Jimi Hendrix. Isle of Wight 8mm as a result of a third-party notification by Ben Valkhoff that claims this material is infringing on their copyright.

Someone else who fails to understand it is simply a business protecting its interest. Can't say I'm in favour but it remains fair.

I'd suggest you grow up and get a life

Re: Isle of Wight 8mm New Sync

I am wondering why you started two threads in the video section dealing with the same footage!

The no reply to the request for the footage to be torrented here should have been sufficient for you to have understood that it was not.

So why you appear to be surprised by another site taking it down is, well a surprise to me!

If someone who owns an item does not want it streaming / torrenting/ etc then its FAIR for them to have it pulled from a site.

Anyway, I'll merge these threads for what it is worth.
