    09. GET OUT OF MY LIFE WOMAN

    Late December 1965/January 1966
    George’s Club “20”, 20 Bridge Street, Hackensack, NJ?/Studio 76, New York City?
    With dubbed on “live” background

Lee Dorsey released the 45 "Get Out Of My Life, Woman / So Long" (Amy 945) in December 1965. It entered the Billboard Hot 100 on 1 January 1966. It reached # 5 on R&B Top 40 hit in February 1966 as well. Interestingly there’s a video of The Jewels [featuring the excellent ‘Lady Bo’ on guitar; ex-Bo Diddley band, hence her stage name], playing this song at Cheetah in 1966.

    Vocals: Jimmy ‘James’ (Hendrix)

    Lead guitar: Jimmy ‘James’ (Hendrix)

    Rhythm guitar: unknown
    Bass: unknown
    Drums: unknown

    Jimmy : Pure funk
Woman: They disgust men who loathe body talk…
    Jimmy : ‘C’ sharp, okay
    Woman: … the first date
    Jimmy : One…

Sounds like Curtis' "working girls" are chatting in the background.

Maybe they were Jimmy's girls too - if at all. It was a rough joint going by the photos and especially since the stuff 'idiooti', athttp://www.earlyhendrix.com/' has found in contemporary press
