There is no release that I'm aware of that presents the whole band correctly because of the limited recorded tracks available to Kramer that day. Eight, and take out the audience and timing tracks that leaves six.
How do you know they were not mic'd up? Obviously they were, as the Woodstock 2 album has the percussion higher than any other release. Would not be possible if the percussion wasn't on a track that was mixed higher than usual....

Yippee, is this an indication CTT is really back :-)

Of course, you only have to look at some still shots to see that at least one other percussionist other than Mitch was mic'd up.

Check out Eisenberg's photo's to start with.

Removed post. While I found it humorous it was a bit of a pot shot at Janie.

Suffice it to say extremely disappointing the Boxset producers were limited to using EHs existing mixes with edits and missing songs. The only artist from the entire festival that had these limitations.

Do you have the wave forms from the EH Jimi plays Woodstock CD as well? Not Douglas's or the EH MCA or Legacy Blu Ray (which I feel all are pretty good soundwise) but the actual EH Legacy CD. Curious to see if that one matches exactly to the 50th Boxset.
