Live release for the next 10 yeaars

Shortly after the release of People Hell and Angels Eddie Kramer was quoted as saying they had enough live material for 10 years worth of releases of which he also states they film of most of the live releases Assumptions:

    1. he considers a single show or blocks of shows like BOG Fillmore East set of 4 shows and both RAH shows as 1 release candidate
    2. The Estate doesnt acknowledge Douglas releases and therefore Douglas show rereleases can make up part of the “10 years” worth of live releases
    3. San Diego 69 for the most part released prior to PHA on the revised In the West by EH and is therefore eliminated
    4. Eddie was only referring to potential hi fi releases
    5. Hollywood Bowl being a low fi release would not be what Eddie was referring to
What makes up these “10 releases” then?
6.Europe 69 shows are such a tangled legal mes he wasn’t even considering those (excepting RAH)

    Since PHA we got:

    1. Miami
    2. Randalls Island (despite not being complete I am considering this one of Eddies 10)
    3. Atlanta
    4. Fillmore East Box and Machine Gun (counted as 1 not 2)

So that leaves 6 to go: IMO these are most likely

    Maui
    RAH
    LA 69
    Berkeley Early Show
    Newport 69
    Dallas 70

Any other thoughts or potential “live releases” I missed?

I dont think they ever will release stockholm 69, san diego or la forum 69. Maybe in a boxset, but not as single shows. Im not crying about it. We have them in great quality already and partial releases!

Could be prime candidates for Dagger releases, we know they would be an improvement on the Holywood bowl release.

It's been located within the last 3 years but doubtful it's Hi-Fi or anything being released soon. The joys of being a Hendrix fan

Do we actually have confirmation that it's been located via an official source or at least a connected reliable source? I've only heard rumors and speculation that it's been found.

In theory its a video source presumably with sound, probably Dagger quality.

Here is a report from the show that notes the video:

Unknown paper (unknown date) ‘HEADPHONES’ [column] review by Pat Page:
“Jimi Hendrix is a beautiful cat. His natural beauty was augmented Friday night by a costume meant for a psychedelic prince in some hippie fairytale. Silk aqua bellbottoms clung to his legs, a see-through full sleeved shirt swirled with lime, orchid, yellow and blue was tied to a waist circled by a many-stranded, multi-colored cord belt. He wore a rainbow sequined vest over the shirt. An orange and purple scarf was tied around the left sleeve and a purple and blue headband around his Afro-frizzed hair, his guitar had a leopard skin strap… and a cig stuck between the strings
A closed circuit colour TV camera projected Jimi’s image on a screen over the front of the stage. The color reproduction varying from poor to terrible and looking up at the screen from down front was a pain in the neck literally, it may have done something for the people scattered in the bleachers.
Back up men were black Billy Cox on bass and drummer Mitch Mitchell a white long-hair. Jimi Hendrix is not a group He’s a virtuoso guitarist and an imaginative performer. He doesn’t play with his men. He plays with his guitar and the bass and drums are there to support that interplay between Hendrix and Hendrix’s guitar.
He’s an easy rapper. He just rambles on. You can catch about every tenth word that comes tumbling out, but what he says doesn’t matter. What he communicates is, “We’re all one here, come together as friends, not an audience – performers.”
He has a marvellous style, eyebrows lowered, mouth screwed into a puckish grimace, and a wide-legged stance he uses when coaxing certain sounds from his instrument. For other sounds he slides the guitar across the microphone pole.
The acrobatics he gave out during ’Foxy Lady’ were not enough to satisfy me for the whole show. He handles… as well as he does his guitar and both together produce an excitement that I would have liked to have seen…..”

Re: Live release for the next 10 yeaars

Hopefully the poor to terrible colour reproduction of the video was due to the projection rather than the source recording, but really whatever it is would be more than fine of course!

Funny how all the pics of the projection screen show up as black, you'd think the screen would need to be white to show the image? Unless it's black because the image projection was quite dark maybe. It just looks like an even toned dark screen and I would have thought a photo would pic something up. Perhaps the whole gig wasn't recorded.

Whatever the case very exciting prospect that a spring 70 gig was videoed - hopefully with sound! Looking forward to it's release (he says in hope).

Looking at the pics again ... in the first image the screen appears to be at stage level, then the other shots show it higher up ... almost as though it was hoisted higher once the show started?
