Singer Bowl 1968 audio & video

    Jimi Hendrix Experience

    Singer Bowl 1968 (ATM 233 / 31.01.2006 / 1CDR)

New York Rock Festival, Singer Bowl, Flushing Meadows Park, Queens, New York City, NY

    August 23, 1968

    Remastered & pitch corrected

Lineage Audio: Low Gen. AUD [Allegedly Master] > ATM 233 CDR > EAC > WAV > FLAC
Lineage Video: Dubbed Color 16mm > Low Gen. VHS > MPEG

    Notes:
An excellent show, but the recording it only so-so; listenable but occasionally harsh.
Fortunately the live mix is pretty good with all instruments more-or-less audible most of the time.
Low Gen copies of this recording have been going around for years, but many of those are off-speed and slightly incomplete.
This version is a partial cleanup of a purported master CDR.
The "master" info is most likely not correct, but it does appear to be low generation, and it was only a little incomplete.
All the songs except "Red House" are complete, but there are cuts between songs.
The most common boot for this show is the probably the old Midnight Beat "Historic Concert" CD.
That CD is missing a little at the very start and end of the concert, plus the cuts during "Red House" are edited by a few seconds to make them smoother.
The cuts on trader copies tend to vary a little, including the two cuts in "Red House" (one copy was entirely missing the main portion of the song).
Otherwise, most of the variations are simply slight cuts missing a second or so near the true cuts in the original recording.
Here the incomplete cuts on the "master" copy have been patched, but the final version may still not be 100% complete.
Besides patching the cuts, the speed/pitch has been adjusted to something close to correct.
Subtantial EQ adjustments have also been made in an attempt to better balance the sound.
The end result is harsh sounding when the recording distorts, but decent sounding when not distorting.
The phase of the left & right channels were carefully aligned and averaged to pure mono to reduce noise.
As bonus, a 23:15 color AUD. video is also included in this torrent (from silent 16mm with dubbed sound).

I hope this comes up right. It's my 1st attempt at Image Shack.
I was perusing Tape City one fine day & came across the title "Singer Bowl". I Immediately thought of this concert, but lo & behold it was a Janis Joplin show ! ! (Which I DL'd). This poster from her post, shows The Experience, The Chambers Bros, Soft Machine and an . . . "Extra Feature Attraction". So I am assuming the Extra Feature Attraction that night was none other than Janis Joplin ! !
I just wanted to share this image with you guys as most things I have to offer have been around since the "wheel"
And . . . I don't think I.S. is working for me, so I will just attach it here. Hope it's large enuf.
    Emil? I.S. H-E-L-P? Thanx
    Peace - Steve

Do it that way and i delete my playing around post...

Upsss...I just realized that you posted this poster first Steev, my apologies.
OK, here's how you do it:
When you upload a pic into image shack, if you want it big, first thing you have to do is re-size it (always use the largest size on offer, ok?).
Second, when you upload a photo, on the first page that appears, with your photo very little with the black stripe under it with the dimensions and size in Kb of it (something like 1500x1170 442Kb) go a little bit further down where you'll see a small check box saying "include details". Right bellow is the first link you have to copy and paste here.
On the right side of that link it's written: Hotlink for forums (1)
And to the left of that fraze is the link that starts with:
    URL=http://imageshack.us........
and ends usually in the second row with (in my case):
    ..........ile.imageshack.us/user/emilovius]emilovius[/URL

I didn't include [ at the beginning of the link and ] at the end because
it wouldn't be seen here in that case(!!).

Please, copy both lines, everything that's right next the "Hotlink for forums (1)" and paste it here on the site where you want the picture to be seen.
    Am I being clear enough?
My English is far from perfect guys, you have to understand that...sorry
    That's the best I can.
    Hope it helped.

Hey, love the torrent man. EXCELLENT! But there is one problem I've noticed, the video. It plays all the way through up until Wild Thing, it starts to sputter and skip and if I try to skip past it, it'll freeze completely. I use VLC Media Player, has anyone else had this issue? Is it intended for some reason???? Please help a Hendrix Brother out?! Thanks as much as there are stars in advance.

Could be a problem from when you downloaded it, maybe try to download it again.

It was exactly that, but not the torrent(The Video plays flawlessly on iTunes but not VLC). My VLC Media Player has been butchering a great number of my Jimi Vids. I just uninstalled it and installed it all over again. and now it's playing beautifully. Thank You Dolly Dagger, Love your avatar by the way.
