The CD did go out....you can download it....I thought they sued the London Times for damages....that the CD caused...being that the CD would hinder sales of the official audio release.

It says, The release of the CD's made it commercially impossible to release the film. How do they figure that. A film is completely different to a audio release. A film, you can see whats going on, unlike a audio release, so a film be much more profitable to release, no matter what they say. Sounds like they just making up excuses. Just my opinion

There's a link to the transcripts of the latest decision at the bottom of this article. Says Goldstein was within his rights to refuse the Sony deal. Don't see how that gets us any closer...

At least this part of the legal wrangling is done. Maybe a new deal can be struck? What a mess :-(

Goldstein's expectations were ridiculous to the point where I feel this might be more about egos and pride than any real desire to get the film out. So stupid in every way....and meanwhile the world watches a substandard version of it on YouTube anyway...

Very true FD but at least we have that.
This footage could have very easily have ended up ( like the footage from the 18th & reported filmed European shows) locked away in a vault never to see the light of day.

This got me thinking. How did the existing footage make its way into collectors hands and what year did it happen, did private collectors have this in their collections as early as the 70s??

    Re: Albert Hall EH release

EH had some pretty weak legal arguments here. Basically, they made a bad deal with Goldstein, giving him near-absolute power to reject a distribution deal. EH probably negotiated a pretty good deal with Sony, but Goldstein said no, apparently believing that this film is the next Star Wars. It's hard to see how this thing ever sees the light of day, unfortunately.

And meanwhile we still don't have reliable answers to the questions: (1) Is "Stone Free" included? (2) Are the in-camera 'psychedelic" effects excluded? I know a couple of people who have seen the movie, but they aren't astute enough fans to answer those basic questions.
