RAH Merge Test Mixes 2/18/69 Hear My Train

    Hello CTT'ers.

Recently I have been experimenting with a Royal Albert Hall 2/18/69 Merge of Hear My Train, SBD and Audience. There's been a few different ways I can mix to the two, and I figured this would be a good way to get a few opinions. The mixes are as followed (in 3:00 or so clips)

Mix #1: SBD Guitar/Vocals on left, Audience Tape on right with SBD Drums/Bass merged in the right side as well to create a really full feeling.

Left Side: SBD Volume down -1.7 so it does not over come to audience tape.

Right Side: Audience tape volume up +2.3 to give it more emphasis, and SBD Drums/Bass turned down -1.7 to not overtake the weak audience, but still merge.

Mix #2: RAW MIX, Just the SBD and Audience playing simultaneously, no panning, EQ, or volume changes, and no extra SBD Bass/Drum.

Mix #3: SBD on the right turned down to low volume, Audience tape on the right turned up to high volume.

Left Side: SBD turned down to -4.5

Right Side: Audience tape turned up to +3.1

    Hope you enjoy.

Wait, confused...this is 2/18/69 or 2/24/69? I've never heard of a board for 2/18/69 or an aud for 2/24/69...

Re: RAH Merge Test Mixes 2/18/69 Hear My Train

Dudes... Apart from a reliable date for this track (18th or 24th Feb '69??), there appears to be a problerm with the downloading. As I write (22nd Dec 14:10 GMT) there are 10 (including me) persons in the process of 'grabbing', BUT we are all Jammed-Out at precisely 92.9%...

Can anyone PLEASE un-jam the digital pipe that appears to be blocked??

    Cheers IF you can.. jasper1000

It's the 18th, 2/18/69, there is one soundboard track in circulation and one audience tape of the complete show. The one soundboard track is of Hear My Train. I am seeding now until it is complete, enjoy the mixes.

    Thanks for your efforts!
You made the merge, YOU decide which mix is the final 'product'.

Besides a mixing of the sources into 1 stereo track, you can also include 3 Mono files, synced but not mixed. 2 sides of the stereo sbd and the mono audience tape make 3 'sources' which can be mixed later on.

Oh yeah, and i *really* dont see the point in torrenting this 3 minute 'test'. Funny how that is the 1st opinion you get when you ask for 1 Nice job you did though, Thanx!

Personally Ik like Merge 1 the best. Maybe because the echo of the drums in the other mixes sounds a bit unnatural coming from 1 side of the auditorium.

    Yo! J_U!

    Mille Graci! Now got it!!

18th Feb 69 Royal Albert Hall, London. NO QUESTION..

The rest of this concert (in Soundboard) is out there somewhere.

The question is, where? Anyone know??

I'd go for Mix #2. No muss, no fuss. JUST synched sources...groovy.

    2 for me.
Overall this sounds best to my aging lugs.
Not a great listen though as I have problems with drums to one side, makes the whole thing feel lopsided to me.
    Nice work though.

    wow sounds super! number ONE!
i would mix it even more

    AUD (where 0% is middle) 25% R
    Dr/Bs 70% R
    Gt/Vc 70% L

try it and see if you like it.

but dont be shy just go what sounds best to you

Just put it through the Hifi and it sounds much better than the laptop from last night.
    Still number 2 :-)

Why not synchronize the three available tracks first and then mixed them as many times as you wish. You can even torrent the three mono tracks and let people do their own mixes. We can open the thread for that and see who's mix sounds the best ...

Ahmm, well ... you've asked for an opinion ....
    Lol!

2 is my choice, but 1 sounds good as well. Thanks for your efforts! Now let's track down that 2/18 soundboard!
