    Flight into 1968 - DVD

Here's a bootleg DVD I haven't seen around too much. It was manufactured by Albright DVD Service in 2007, and that's about all I know about the origin of it.

The DVD features a wide variety of material from 1968 - probably most of what's available. Some is in colour and some in b&w, some is with sound, some is silent and some is with overdubbed sound, some of the clips are long and some are short. I will not go into details regarding the content (I haven't worked them out myself yet), but if you're somewhat familiar with what's out there from 1968, you can be pretty sure it's included. The quality may not be top notch, and some portions can certainly be found in considerably better quality elsewhere, but this is still an interesting piece, not at least because of the inclusion of various rarely seen home movies.

The DVD itself has no menu or chapters, and the different pieces are edited together in a way that makes this seem almost like a feature film or a documentary. - And with the lack of chapters, you really don't have much other choice than to watch it as such ....;-)

Artwork is included in the torrent, but can also be found here if you're interested:
    http://home.online.no/~hpjohnse/jimi...flight_art.jpg

    I should probably also mention that although the cover says it's 60 min's, it's actually 90 min's (1:29:37).

Re: Flight into 1968 - DVD

I saw this artwork several times on Internet but never saw it anywhere
(eBay or elsewhere) being offered for sale. Also never saw it offered for
trade or torrented. But I would lie if I'd say that I wasn't curious. Can't
    wait to see it.
Thank you (for the millionth time) our dear Hendrix "guru"!

Re: Flight into 1968 - DVD

Here's a first attempt to categorize what I recognize, I'd love to have any more information or corrections on any of this:

Some clips feature audio which is out of sync but from the same show as the video

It also uses clips from the home movies in between other things sometimes, I think they're trying to stay chronological as much as possible.

    All times approximate.

0:00 - 3:33 Noel's home movie montage (color) (What interview is that at 2:00?)
3:33 - 4:00 B&W backstage footage (with "Jimmy" in the upper right corner)
4:00 - 4:30 B&W performance footage (no live sound) (where is this??)
4:30 - 9:00 Color Clark University 3/15/68 interview and performance clips (from "All My Loving")
9:00 - 20:25 Generation Club from "Wake At Generation"
    20:25 - 20:30 brief clip of Noel's home movies
    20:30 - 21:50 Miami Pop Festival B&W
    21:50 - 22:00 Noel's home movie clip
22:00 - 23:50 B&W Piper Club, Rome (no Jimi that I can see, what is this?)
23:50 - 24:04 Color airport arrival footage (where?)
    24:04 - 25:12 B&W airport arrival - Milan, I think? Somewhere in Italy
    25:12 - 25:25 B&W performance from Italy
    25:25 - 25:35 More color airport footage
25:35 - 29:05 B&W airport arrival, train, and performance footage for some non-Jimi band... is that Noel's band maybe? What is this??
29:05 - 29:08 B&W footage, Jimi, is he playing the same venue as the last band?
29:08 - 32:10 Color footage of what I believe to be Zurich 5/30 or 31
32:10 - 33:40 B&W performance footage & fans screaming, in front of VOX sign
33:40 - 37:12 Dark B&W footage in front of the same Marlboro sign as 29:08 - 32:10 - Zurich again?
37:12 - 40:00 Dusty Springfield (twice, once in B&W close-up and once windowboxed in blue and white)
    40:00 - 40:22 More home movies
40:22 - 41:35 Blueish amateur footage from a ways back (Chicago?)
41:35 - 58:46 Singer Bowl NY (including their entrance)
    58:46 - 1:10:10 Vancouver 9/7/68 Interview
    1:10:10 - 1:12:47 Hollywood Bowl 9/14/68
    1:12:47 - 1:23:45 "Gloria" TTG Studios
    1:23:45 - 1:29:36 Hollywood Hills posing

Re: Flight into 1968 - DVD

I don't know why but this DVD won't burn.
This is the error message I got from Nero

    #2 DVDREALLOC -21 File DVDVideoCompilation.cpp, Line 1211

Required file 'VIDEO_TS.VOB' is not present

I downloaded this torrent 2 times, thinking that the first time I did something wrong but now I get the same error.
    Does somebody can help me?

    Thank you in advance.

I use nero recode. I import the VIDEO_TS folder and burn it

I made several DVDs in this way and all worked

Okey, when you are going to burn a DVD-movie, just select burn data disc in nero and select the VIDEO_TS folder and burn that to the disc.
I also suggest that you dont share/trade any of the DVD's youve re encoded since, if you re encode a video file there will be a loss in quality.

Thanks for the offer but I feel that the bootleg cover is better forgotten. If someone wants a cover with tracklist I've got one - only I can't upload it here cause there seems to be a 100k limit to attachments. I'll make a small torrent.
