Are You Experienced wasn't released in US/Canada until August 23 of 1967 (after the Monterey Pop Festival in June)

Different song line up than UK Track /Polydor /Barclay release to include first 3 UK singles.

US Tri color label was a first press. 2 tone second issue(Capitol club shown w/ white border),and from Canada, black label stereo and blue label mono(shown)

Karl Ferris "fish eye" photo , using infared color film for front US cover and "halo" Ferris photo for backcover.

Gold promotional sticker found on US white label promos and the cover rubber stamped on back in upper margin

MCA Records test pressing for Are you Experienced? 2 record set reissued in late 90's

Here's a few worldwide re issues for Are You Experienced using different artwork

Beautiful Pyramid cover from New Zealand,Greek w/ Greek lettering, blue German Rotation cover,
France Barclay twofer and single album reissues and the release from Chile using Electric Ladyland cover art
and an odd German greatest hits package just using the same album title

Yes sir. Even though I'm 90 some odd issues late to the party I was knocked out by the latest issue ,especially Tim's excellent ELL article.
Hard for me to find new info on UK vinyl and this really delivered.

Tim penned some excellent vinyl research in JP. An eye opener for many of us.
I'll check to see what you need to pick up prior to 90 Billo.

also shown in #3 posting of this thread a few more hard to find AYE? versions :
front and back of a Dutch Medium series re issue , Australian w/ stereo sticker and no artist name (first pressing I believe)
and a New Zealand pyramid cover re issue on Karussell also w/ cover sticker
unlike Australian version shown above in same post

I have the worst, a New Zealand copy, I presume the first, licenced to Philips, who apparently produced it, it's cover is unlaminated entirely, and has a reprocessed ('stereo') ie messed up mono sound - awful.

Here is the 1991 German Polydor CD pressing 825-416-2.

Front Cover, Back Cover, CD itself and insert.

The sound on this one as with most of the German Polydors is very good.

Re: Are You Experienced? get Experienced

Haven't seen this one before. US stock copy MONO with 2 tone label !!!!

I wonder if it's from the same era as the US stock copy MONO of Axis w/ 2 tone label
which has been fully discussed on the Axis thread.

Red House,do you have this and if so what can you tell us about it ???

here's a quote about some new info from another seller of this ultra rarity: (thanks for the insight Rich)

"THESE ARE A REAL ODDITY AS BY THE TIME THESE 2 TONES WERE PRESSED IN LATE 1968 MONO PRESSINGS WERE A THING OF THE PAST SO VERY FEW MUST HAVE BEEN MADE..POSSIBLY FOR A SPECIAL ORDER OR TEST RUN AS SO FEW EXIST TODAY

THIS COPY HAS THE ORIGINAL COVER AS WELL... THE TEMPTATION IS TO SWAP THIS MONO COVER FOR ONE IN BETTER CONDITION FROM A MORE COMMON 3 TONE PRESSING BUT THESE 2 TONE SLEEVES HAVE A SMALL NUMBER 3 ALONG THE BOTTOM BACK EDGE AFTER THE NEW YORK ADDRESS...... EXCLUSIVE TO THIS MONO SLEEVE ONLY"

Re: Are You Experienced? get Experienced

Billo, I have 4 copies of AYE U.S. mono. All are tri-color labels. This is a new one on me - WOW! It appears for a very short time AYE two color monos were pressed when the Axis monos were pressed. Is it verified that this is not a record club pressing or Canadian?
