I've been listening to Spirit and Randy California albums compiled by Mick Skidmore for days now. I just wonder how it would have turned out if Randy could have been able to go to England with Jimi...
Today I got Valentyne Suite by Colosseum (original first print U.K. Vertigo) Sounds just great after all these years![]()

Listened to The Road from Memphis by Booker T. Jones - pretty cool!
Now listening to:
Led Zeppelin - "When the Levee Breaks" [alternate mix/vocal take]
Come On Parts 1 & 2 - Earl King (rare stereo mix)
Skid Row (The Original) 34 Hours (1971)
Like many others on CT, after Jimi's passing the search was on for someone to fill the void,on the recommendation of a friend I bought this album, nowhere near Jimi obviously, but I wore the vinyl down, interesting for the emergence of Gary Moore and how his career blossomed
Nice choice! Although I prefer the previous album. Both has the raw power that was gone in later Gary's albums IMO. Not to forget his input in Dr. Feelgoods Heavy Petting album, some real great playing there!
Right now listening to: Ornette Coleman with Prime Time: Virgin Beauty

Hendrix, Winterland '68 "Spanish Castle Magic", from the 11th. Kramer mix from Winterland "like a rolling stone" single. Extended jam is very, very, exploratory. I really consider this to be the "transition" point from early hendrix to later hendrix, this type of thing. I feel like this is the best example, so this is it for me.
