    Isolated Jimi Track Isley Brothers

Dig this! I think it's from 1965 and the Isley Brothers. The virgin Jimi sound is unique and gets close to that Jimi essence we all love!

Yeah, this is from the 1971 lp. A shame they didn't include this mix on WCSB.
Hear how snappy his rhythm guitar work is - this is what made Jimi unique among the guitar "heroes". None of the British players could play rhythm guitar like this.

KD: Not sure if anyone's mentioned this, but I actually prefer the original single / 45rpm mix of "Have You Ever Been Disappointed". EH did not use this original mix with the horns and piano but the 1971 Isley Brothers: In The Beginning mix with those mixed out and Jimi's TREMOLO (not reverb!) guitar up loud. Love the piano on the original, and the horns add great volume dynamics.

But I'm Swedish. Jimi was a mega-star here in 1967; he basically broke in Britain and Sweden at the same time .

Not to forget France first in 1966, closely followed by West Germany in 1966

He got a good reception at an Olympia gig in Paris, that's hardly a big break? But maybe he was headline news all over France after this, I dunno.
