Does anyone have any more info on the filmed portion of Jimi's set? Was the whole concert filmed? Does someone have it? I sure would love to see the whole thing. I always liked this concert and the footage is unreal! I love it! It's so good to see some new footage here.

I have made a sound upgrade of the Hendrix portion, and it is now up in the video torrents section.

    Peace

I saw it on TV in about 1983. It was on Night Flight, anyone remember that show? This was when cable TV was really getting popular, yes youngsta's there was a time when cable was new. :-) Jimi did SSB and Foxy Lady, IIRC. Anyway I came across it by chance I didn't know it was going to be on and had never heard of it. I thought it was a parody of the sixties! The radical dudes in their berets were hysterically funny, it was so, so cliche. And this was only 12 or 13 years after it happened. I can imagine seeing it now, a time capsule into an incredibly naive age. It would be very instructive to show to a sociology class studying the 60's. As far as Jimi's performance it was OK, he looked pretty stoned but functional, mainly he was po'd at the crowd.

    R.I.P. Bert Tenzer (1927/08/20 – 2013/08/29)

Bert Tenzer was writer, producer and director of this original theatrical release, “Free”.

“Sadly, Free was a late-comer into the Rock Festival Film scene, already dated by that time, so the ever-inventive Tenzer decided to put it into a Roadshow presentation called Cin-a-Rock where the film would be presented along with live performances from local bands and others who just wanted a gig. In a report in a Nov. 26, 1973 Boxoffice, it was reported that Bo Diddley as well as the Soul band Rufus were among the live performers at one show. In 1977, Tenzer’s film was turned into The Day the Music Died featuring Murray the K, released by Atlantic Releasing.”
