    How to upload

    1. Create a torrent file. I use utorrent, but there are lots of programs that will do it.

    2. Open audio torrents, click new thread.

    3. Fill in all info, go down to manage attachments, upload the torrent file, save changes.

    4. Click on the torrent file in the show description to begin seeding.

How do I create a BitTorrent?

#1. Download the latest version of MakeTorrent from http://krypt.dyndns.org:81/torrent/maketorrent/ and fully install it.

Please note that you can use other BitTorrent software, however we recommend this software to simplify the process.

#2. Create a folder for the files you wish to share. (i.e. "John Mayer - 2004-02-12 - Austin TX ")

#3. Copy the files you wish to share in the folder just created. Keep the path to the folder handy as you will need it later.

#4. Open the MakeTorent software and choose the Classic option.

#5. Select the "dir" button and select the parent folder you created above.

#6. Click the "ok" button once the folder you just created is highlighted.

#7. Add our Tracker Announce Url in the "Tracker" area which is:

    http://crosstowntorrents.org:5555/announce

Click the "Create Torrent" button when the below screen comes up.

#8. Add any comments about the Torrent you would like then click the "Next" button.

#9. Choose the location where the Torrent file will be stored.
Save the file in an easily accessible area, but NOT in the same folder you created earlier.

#10. Name the Torrent file per our naming standards.
    Example: "Artist - 2004-11-29 - City, State - Venue"

When done click the "Save" button.

#11. The Torrent file will now be created and saved where you specified.

    I got a question.
I got a ton of Jimi stuff collected since the early 70's.
I'm slowly converting the cassettes over to CD.

To upload these cds, what do I need to convert the cd's too? Wav files?

    Thanks

Please make sure you are seeding from your personalized torrent file and not the one you created to seed the torrent.

I've got similar problems. I'll try to upload some stuff later, when it'll be all clear and easy.

I just uploaded a torrent and the tracker is working fine, please make sure you delete the .torrent file you created and download the one from the thread you created.

Thumbs up Re: How to upload?

Well, just uploaded my very first show(ever) and it was rather painless. So, looks like the create torrent/upload guideline instructions are on target. Good work hawkfan369!

    Re: How to upload?

When Using Utorrent, I was able to create a torrent files (ATM 062). Now when I get to the CrosstownTorrent site, I was able to get as far as the "manage attachments" button. At this point, do I need to attach each seperate file (individual songs, artwork, text etc..) or is there a way to attach the whole folder at once. At this point it looks like I will be adding the files song by song. This is my first upload and so I am a bit tentative, the other day I ended up by accidentally sending the new post then I had to quickly edit it thus creating lots of confusion (my apologies for that). Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. I did try downloading the "torrentmaker" program that was suggested but each time I load it and install it, it fails to run. Thanks, Pablhollis

    Re: How to upload?

You have to create a torrent whith Utorrent and it's that created torrent you attach with your post. After you have to click on the torrent file in the post as usual to download a torrent and now you seed.
    Sorry for my bad english

    Re: How to upload?

It's quite simple if you follow the guidelines and use the suggested s/w. I will try to get basic with fake folder name :

    1. Create folder 'Concert XXXX-XX-XX' and put all your show files (flacs, .txt, .jpg, etc.) inside it.

    2. Use program to create 'Concert XXXX_XX_XX.torrent' and save.

    3. Go to video/audio forum, post new topic, clik on attachments and grab torrent file from your computer and submit post.

    4. Go into your new post and download torrent just like you would any other show.

    5. Start your bt client and add downloaded torrent. Seeding will start.

Hmmm ... after re-reading this I'm not so sure it's any simpler than the original guidelines. Oh well it may help someone. Works for me.
