Frank Zappa: "Rock journalism is people who can't write interviewing people who can't talk for people who can't read."
It's a fantastic opportunity to learn how distorted much of the "biographical" writing on Jimi is, and how much of it is based on old press cuttings - ie form your own opinion instead of blindly accepting the "experts" ie those with a better old press data base than you probably have (if you have one at all) pontificating their (and selected 30-40-year-old self serving waffle from his former "friends", many [all?] of whom, very obviously, have very "selective"/"creative" memories) who base their selective, unfounded "theories" on whatever aspect of JH.
Nice if more US and European etc. members put up their countries press to give a more 'complete' picture- Or are they too embarrassed
!? Come on guys give it to the ('rock' 'linguafranca' - ie basically English) "rock music" world! We have 'google translate'

Also to my knowledge (correct me if I'm wrong) no-one has made decent transcripts of the not very large but still significant amount of German spoken introductions/interviews etc. from JH's many appearances there, or from the questions asked in the 68 Paris French broadcast interview etc.
It's, of course, very nice, informative etc. to have a translation, but a translation of what? Is the translation as accurate as it might be, given the possibilty of a misheard word or two, misunderstanding of English usage etc. etc.? Would German/Swedish/Danish/French/Dutch/Italian fans not like accurate transcriptions they can refer to? These introductions and significant chat etc. are all part of the phenomenon that was JH and their ommission seriously detracts from the accuracy of any account of him.

NOt working. BT guard (I think) has messed up my utorrent - nothing is working "error invalid download state, try resuming"
Anyone got an idea?
Frank Zappa: "Rock journalism is people who can't write interviewing people who can't talk for people who can't read."
Even if BT guard messed it up, you can indeed try 'resuming' or 'starting' the torrent, and you may have to download it again, which is possible since there are 6 seeders now. The torrentfile itself is fine and seems to work fine. I downloaded the files you torrented, and am now one of the seeders.
(Maybe you have those files on an external harddisk which is now turned off? In that case you get the same error message in Utorrent)
try 2
I uploaded a new torrent the old one was attached improperly, grab this one and it will work.
the old torrent file vanished with the pics. I hope to have this problem resolved very soon.
Fantastic resource - thanks Ren, and hawkfan!!!!

That would appear to be the name he gave them - and quite possibly others. He was a 'pop' newcomer (and previously unknown, new arrival from a distant country at this time), with his first single not long in the charts. Many people in the US apparently only knew him as 'Maurice James' or 'Jimmy James' at this time
.
Thanks for reposting the article photo J.Lucas![]()

Thanks for sharing this. It's good to see history being preserved.
Thanks a lot!
And if I see you no more in this world,
Then I'll meet you in the next one -
And don't be late
