Friday 16 January 1970, Juggy Sound Studios, New York City
Reviewing the concert tapes for the forthcoming ‘Band Of Gypsys‘ album
Producer: Jimi Hendrix (Heaven Research Unlimited)
    Engineer: Eddie Kramer

EK: “Mixing the Band Of Gypsys album was a challenge. It was like Jimi was really almost pressured into doing it [well, you know, Capitol/Chalpin had been waiting for more than a year. Ed.]. Hearing Buddy's [vamping] seemed to bother him. We were sitting there and he was like, 'Oh man, I wish Buddy would shut the fuck up.' He would listen to him and say, 'Can we cut some of those parts out?' I ended up editing a lot of Buddy's quote unquote 'jamming', where he would go off and sing a lot [Well, if you hadn’t, ‘We Gotta Live Together’ would not have fitted on to the LP. Ed.]."
