September 18th 2012- Lansdowne Crescent meet with Tina Hendrix and Co..Who's in?

​Hey Y'all,

So...I have been speaking to Tina Hendrix on FB and she is coming over to Lansdowne Crescent for a candlelit get together in honour of her uncle Jimi for the 42nd anniversary of his passing.

This will be a celebration/rememberance of the great man and I asked her again this week if she is still coming over and she replied Yes.

I will be there and wondered if anyone else knew of this?, as it will be great to meet some CTT members and honour the great man himself. I do not know if Leon is coming but will send him a PM on FB and ask.

More details to follow as they are revealed. { Would be great for the guitarists among us to bring some along and have a sing sesh }

well, I'm surprised at the lack of replies but I will keep this post on for a few more days...when I hear of timings for the day, I will post them up for anyone interested in coming along to pay homage to Jimi.

This sounds interesting...Im in two minds really. Ive lived in London for years and still do & it's pretty easy to for me to get there, but I've never been able to go to Landsdowne Cresent...It's too sad for me.:-( Id rather remember Jimi by playing his records.
But if you post up the details I might come and drop by for a while. As I would like to see it particulary the garden where those last pictures were taken.

I wasn't sad when we visited the location in 2004. Living here in the U.S.A. I just thought to myself that I was fortunate to actually stand in the exact spot and look at the flat where he died. Took photos of the "park" area behind the gate. Very quiet area, peaceful. Maybe because I just look at death differently. You are physically gone but always remembered by those you touched.

Count me in. Was going to visit on the 40th anniversary but didn't have time as I had a Brook Street Flat tour which was a real buzz.

Couple or so years back a bunch here were talking about a group visit to Seattle, eh? Some people were putting together a nice surprise for upon arrival...but those plans went by the wayside somehow though, yes?

A couple of weeks ago I asked Tina Hendrix if she was still going and she replied yes, so I have PM'd her asking for specifics on timings....I will let you all know when I find out...gonna take some flowers for Jimi and hope to meet some fans there too...maybe we could do a little tour around some key sites....that would be great too.....Peace, love and Happiness, yeah, happiness.

KD: After the Blue Plaque Ceremony in 1997 a bunch of us including several of Jimi's friends and associates on Sept. 18th. visited 22 Landsdown Crescent. We knocked on the door and the guy who lived there unbelievably, actually let us in for a look around. Very sad and creepy vibe there to be in the room where Jimi died. We said a quick prayer and left, leaving some flowers outside the building.

I just made this entire post up to make myself look important - it didn't actually happen (private joke !)

Hmm, I'm not making anything up to look important either, just a honest offer to any fans out there to meet up and show our love for Jimi.

This sounds like a great time but I am in America and would not be able to make the trip. Your offer to the group is wonderful and I hope there are members who will attend. Good luck, take lots of picture and enjoy celebrating Jimi.

Unfortunately, Plans have been changed this year and Tina and family have decided to pay their respects at Jimi's gravesite. Shame they are not coming to London now as Ive just found out from Facebook. Nevermind, I sent her a message hoping it goes well......I will still be going to 22 Lansdowne Crescent to lay some flowers down there for Jimi.....anyone want to meet up there would be awesome.
