ALL of your yarns are second hand "research" from books, and your posts are generally like the ones you've just responded to of mine - insulting people, demanding proof and insinuating that someone's lying or making something up. Youv'e never come up with ONE first hand account of anything, and it appears to me and several others here that you got "scooped" again, and your ego just can't handle it.

Then you sit back like you're the "spokesperson" for the board DEMANDING proof of another one of my lies - Fuck off !

The very fact that someone, somewhere out there maybe just found out something or other - even a hint of a possibility of something - about Jimi Hendrix that you didn't know or hadn't heard about and again you get completely snide and insulting. Happens every fucking time with you. Not just with me, but with everyone.

Anyone ever think of why people like me don't post too much around here anymore? - idiots like this with Obsessive Collector's Disorder.

I live in the SF Bay Area. What do you think the possibilities are that one of those Berkeley girls was BORN around here, LIVED around here at the time of the concerts and maybe continues to LIVE here ? Probably pretty good I think.

Just got a personal email on this "exchange" - I think it pretty much mirrors the attitudes of most of the board:

" Wow, this is all so irritating. I just want to have fun talking about Jimi's music on there. But there isn't room for discussion of Jimi's music with some people. That's because there are people there (like STP) with egos the size of Saturn. He tops it off by accusing you of having your ego get in the way. Typical talk for someone in his position: accusing the other person of being guilty of what he is actually guilty of."

KD: Couldn't have said it better myself. This is supposed to be "fun" isn't it folks ? I thought it would be cool to share a story of having met one of those young girls, who's minds were being blown being 3 feet away from Jimi during one of his best ever performances. I guess not - pretty sad when some OCD guys "rain on the parade" with their shitty attitudes.

Adios ! I think I'll keep any new stories or information I get on Jimi to myself from now on...................... KD

KD, your sentiments have been echoed here countless times by other members, myself included. I have also found myself in a position where I feel like I've been personally attacked by stplsd for simply taking part in a discussion about my favorite musician. One of his favorite things to do is to pick apart posts, line by line, and then try to discredit your statements by taking them out of context. This is a common tactic used by anonymous internet personas, otherwise known as trolls. I basically ignore stplsd at this stage of the game. If I didn't, I'd never want to post here, or even browse the threads here.

I can only speak for myself when I say that I enjoy your posts and I see the value in the information that you bring to these message boards, so please don't abandon all hope.
Let's not let one bad apple spoil what is otherwise a really great and informative discussion!!!

I would be the first to agree that stp's disection of information can be tiresome, but with so much crap written on the web about jimi (and others) thank fuck for this superb website to try and get as many facts as possible in the million piece jigsaw puzzle that was the life of james marshall hendrix. If he treads on some peoples feet or annoy others, it may be worth it to get another piece of imformation backed with pictures and/or testemonies.

Maybe I'm more cynical that the next man, but to me "someone" just telling a story, is just that - a story. I'm just making an observation. I disagree with you, so what, nothing to get upset about - jeez.
Anyone can claim anything, we all have to look at the probability before we accept anything, otherwise we just believe any old twaddle. It's not an important story. Doesn't change anything in the Hendrix history. It could be true, however unlikely. An interesting one? Well depends on your taste.

Separating different points to answer the various points made - agreeing often or sometimes disagreeing - is commonsense ordinary practice

That is simply not true. I don't do that.
But by removing his text from my quotes and isolating them and not to respond to them - that's exactly what KD did though

I'm not the humourless one flying off the handle and becoming abusive because someone disagrees with me. There are a few here that shouldn't be throwing stones as they are living in glass houses

I enjoy KD posting here, but he needs to chill out and stop being abusive when someone disagrees with him. Not that I was even disagreeing anyway. I was just pointing out that a story is just that, a story and that the girl in question claiming she and her pal just breezed in tripping sounded unlikely to me, given the circumstances - big deal?... not

Well, this isn't the way it should be done. Up until this thread, I had no problems with STPLSD and appreciated his contribution. Kdion was just trying to share a story with people; it's as simple as that. He isn't a newbie who just encountered CTT, but someone who has had some status as a musician not just in San Francisco, but even on an international level. Furthermore, Kdion is the only person I know who has played in a band with a member of the Jimi Hendrix Experience, namely, Noel Redding. I'm sure he knows stories that Noel shared that few people know about. Certainly, some of those stories would include things about Hendrix himself. Driving someone like that away from a Jimi Hendrix board doesn't sound like a very logical thing to do to me. As for the Berkeley girls story, I don't get the impression that he considered it earth-shattering. It would be my guess there are many more important Hendrix-related stories that he could be sharing if he wanted to. However, whether anyone would want to do such a thing to a potentially hostile audience is debatable. I can only speak for myself, but if it were me, I wouldn't even bother.

I quite agree. Flying off the handle and becoming abusive, and others ganging up on me because I thought that the woman's story sounded unlikely is not a decent way to behave.

He wasn't "trying", he did share his story. And I had the temerity to question the woman's story! Outrageous! how dare I!

I did ask? And he told us, so now we know.

I said I thought the woman's story sounded unlikely - big deal. No need to make a kitchensink drama out of it. Everyone was getting along hunky dory until KD threw his toys out the pram.

Oh yeah, I get it. I disagreed with something you said on another thread and now you've butted in here to "get your own back", how sad is that.

I am not here to butt in for something that occurred on another thread. So, if you think that, you are dreaming up disagreements which never existed. As for my comments about a pissing contest, your interpretation of that is also incorrect.

How is their health being ruined? Not the old "bad for you" lecture? It was legal at one time along with Cocaine and yet outlawed by a racist government (William Howard Taft's administration) in the early 1900's in America! No "Cocaine crazed Negroes" wanted. Do you remember the scare tactic movie "Reefer Madness"? Early 1900's correct? In my line of work I've seen and handled death from a stillborn sticking out of the womb to an elderly person dying in their sleep.Mourning Star, death will come to all of us no matter how hard you try and stay healthy, don't you think the ones that died had the same thought of living?

Hear! hear! Well said. The outlawing of cannabis was almost entirely racist and political (eg the use of the term 'marijuana' in the 1930's by the 'anti lobby' propaganda was itself racist), it had zip to do with health (and still is, who is the overwhelming demographic of those doing long time for cannabis possession and "trafficking" [ie crossing a border with a joint's worth?]).

What killed Jimi was prescription downers (and circumstantially cigarettes)

What killed Chas, Noel and Mitch was the legal drug alcohol (and circumstantially cigarettes)

According to what I've read people only really started getting busted for possession of cannabis in any number after the war (WW 2), and mostly in cities where "jazz" musicians and their "associates" worked, through the subsequent loss of performing licences etc., and could be excluded from work therbye
