Obviously i don't live up to the standard for collectors... (question mark or not)

2: I would also like to hear/see/read (pick noun) what Glebbeek has to say about it. That's why i, half-jokingly, suggested that i might start subscribing to Univibes.

My profound apologies, for being poorly informed, and not knowing about this tape...
Pleny of previous material that would justify the big interest, enough to sub to a fanzine. Material we never heard before, unlike this show. It is after all just an upgrade. Sure, would be great if this was circulated so we could all hear it but as I said in a previous post, maybe good reason it has yet to make it into a wider circle.

Read (noun picked) is about all we'll get from CG. i'm afraid.

You have known about this for many years, maybe not that it "leaked" into a small circle of collectors. No apology required or we'll all be making apologies forever and a day :-)

My point has been all through this, why sub to a fanzine JUST 'cause this sbd is being reviewed? Repeating myself I know but it is nothing new. We know what was played etc. I'd only be getting excited if it was being made available to listen to.

I'd love to hear the show in a higher definition than the horrendous Charly version that I have. Even if it reputed to be a poor show, there are always spine tingling moments with Jimi. Every single show has something going on, a unique little run of notes here, a particular texture there. Please let us here it!

Indeed, some special Jimi moments here for sure, we do get to hear that on the raw reel source or the charly "release".
BTW, has anyone done a merge of the HMT that was on the Dutch radio b-cast and the reel? That might add some "body" to what is a rather dry sbd.
Just playing HMT and the RH from the sbd, it would be nice if CG would share his good fortune with us here at CTT.

Look forward to hearing that merged Train :-)

    Gordon,

It eludes me, who are you kidding?
You already have that merged 'Train' - and you know who dunnit.
We've (a couple of guys) had this piss-poor show as SBD and merged for SEVERAL years now.
And we made our promises. Which were broken, and the result is CG having a copy.
Its still a piss-poor show though! No wonder Chas didnt want much to do with the JHE anymore after witnessing that debacle.

I wonder if Goldstein had anything to do with the supply of drowsiness-drugs Jimi suffers from on both RAH shows.
I'd take ANY Jan69 show over this 'hot item' - remember how exciting Woburn turned out to be?

Ahh, ok then, now i get it. I was really surprised to find that UV will have a song for song review of the complete sdb source. So a broken promise was how he ended up with it? That is too bad, probably means someone who leaked it originally will loose his job. Bad, bad , bad. I wish people would keep their promises. Same thing happened to me with the Hamburg 69 show and the Jimpress review...i learned the lesson though. I am regularly amazed at comments of people who never had an uncirculated item themselves, have no idea of the pressure involved and only label the people holding back sources selfish, evil, etc....when in reality all they had to do to get them is the promise to keep it to themselves. Well...I have always kept my promises, and i am happy that most of the items i used to have have been circulated by now :-)

CG might not have the tape in his possession someone else might have it and is going to let CG hear it. There is a finished RAH film out there and people have seen it maybe a few copies have went missing, that is why the delay of the release. Some kind Cinema release a few people that EH might not want to see the finished film and a few copies where made remeber this was going to be a big release and it was cancelled after the free copies where given out by the newspaper. CG might change his mind and not release his review, Stuff is going on behind closed doors we do not know about.

The RAH footage hasnt been released due to Mr Goldsteins shenanigans, not EH's and most certainly not because a few copies may have gone missing which i highly doubt.
Stuff might be going on behind closed doors we dont know about, but there's no need to fabricate a theory. We already know how and why regarding the RAH situation.
Its been a while since any forward-looking statements by EH/Janie about RAH and Miami footage, which could be seen as a worry!

    Johan,
Yes and it sounds wonderful. Once the cat was let out of the bag with CG's statement I feel reaching this point was inevitable. Just as I feel it now inevertable we will see this in circulation sooner rather than later. The merge I'm sure will follow very closely.
I don't agree with it being a "piss poor" show. Shame the cost and opportunity of a sbd was "wasted" on such an off night but I've heard worse as a performance.

Anyway, whoever passed a copy to CG knew exactly what they where up to I'd say.

On the one hand we always promise to hold, each one down the line "promises to hold". We all know what happens and we except that BEFORE we share anything.
In the Hamburg issue, this was slightly different as it was not circulated as you know, but it was reviewed when it should not have been. This was something none of us anticipated. That's not to excuse the act in any way and I was as disappointed as you Olve to read this when we did.
Now I don't blame you for hanging on to that Black Gold recording you have, lol.

Could be fun to know where this originated from - Douglas, EH or Goldstein..

I wanted only information about the tape, I not asked for the tape.

I now know that some of you (the inner circle) have the tape and do not share with us.
You have your reasons, I can live with that.

I thought this forum is also for share information and facts and not only for audio and video sharing.

btw: I am a subscriber of UV since round 15 years and I enjoy every issue.

Relax, that life is too short for too much trouble.
