Maybe so but he is dead and what is left is simply historical. I for one want to see the originals reproduced if for no other reason than from an Historical perspective.
If a buck can be turned on these then that's the way it goes. Just pleasing to see it done as well as it is.

I guess you're right, but while reading some of these writings, I can't help but feel I'm reading something that I shouldn't be, as though I'm snooping through my friends private things.
I don't get that feeling listening to the bootleg recordings, though. With those, he at least went into the studio and recorded the songs with other people around, and must have intended for them to be heard eventually, even if they were to be refined first. But these writings were done in private, and some of them seem like personal thoughts and fantasies, which he would have only intended to be read by himself.

Reading song lyrics, especially draft works can be a little intimate but they are intended to be public at some stage. I find them more honest and representative than the polished final product. I always like the way Hendrix would adapt and change per performance.
Itís also quite enjoyable to read what others THINK is being sung, especially those on the Japanese covers :-)

On that point (of song lyrics), thanks STPLSD for all the work you do on that front.
