    People, Hell and Angels (2013)

I'm surprised that nobody made any comment about the album yet.
I doubt I'm the only one on the site who pre-ordered it.
    Anybody else?

    Earth Blues
Typical 'Band of Gypsys' sound. Like those 'rehearsals'
    tracks but slightly more polished.

Somewhere is not bad, but I simply can't 'swallow'
the edit at 1.58. It doesn't fit! Sounds artificial.

Hear My Train. 'Blues Outtakes' version (first part).
Intro is slightly edited and the rest sounds 'intact'
    (to my ears).
I really can't understand why Alan Douglas attempted that
'merge'. This track sounds complete and even has a nice
solo instrumental coda which Douglas had to edit out to
make his 'merge' edit. I presonaly don't miss the
    'vocal reprise'.

    Bleeding Heart. Incomplete track again!!!
    ('Valleys of Neptune' flashback).
A kind of a 'funky' rendition with nice solo
    guitar intro.

    Let Me Move You
    Time-travel back to 1964-65...
    Lonnie Youngblood track.
Although not recorded in 1964 but '69,
    except for Jimi's guitar, everything
    else sounds dated...

    Izabella
    Typically 'sloppy' sound of GS&R.
    Rhythm section is never 'together'.
Not on a single beat. Larry is out of tune..

    Easy Blues.
Well known track from 'Nine to the Universe'.
Here complete (yeah, you bet it is!). The booklet
claims it's 'nearly twice as long'. If you went to
    school, do the math yourself 4:27 - 5:58 :-(
Complete jam is about 10 minutes long in fact.

    Crash Landing
Well known April '69 version with strange edit (?) at
approx. 1.43 where song very very slightly slows
down...(??), possibly to incorporate guitar solo from
another session (track or song). Even if my assumption
is not correct, that's how it sounds. At approximately
2.56, the track is back to it's original tempo (sound,
atmosphere...). Organ is totally buried in the mix.

    Inside Out
    Ezy Rider Jam with organ.
    Latest previous appearance
    you can compare this with,
was on Bob Terry's tape 22.

    Hey Gypsy Boy
    Midnight Lightning track without overdubs.
Great to see it finally officially released.

    Mojo Man
    Allen Bros track.

    Villanova Junction
Another unfinished track that ends in
    (with) fade out ....
    ('Loose Ends' album 'flashback')

    TT: 52:48

It's astonishing to realize that some serious professionals actually
think that this is good enough for the official Jimi Hendrix album.
This is the work of people with no morals, taste or shame.

We have a 30 page thread on this album where every track has been hotly debated....maybe you should check it http://crosstowntorrents.org/showthr...in-preparation
Hear My Train is a composite of two takes - the ending is from the previous take, that's why it wasn't on the Douglas "merge".

Thanks for the reply and 'Hear My Train' detail.
I checked the thread, briefly. All I could see is *New studio album in preparation* title
and loads of 'off-topic' comments. So, I guess, I missed those few that actually mention
the finished album among those countless pages... I'll have to check it out more thoroughly...

Really great few mins, shame he failed to go and listen to the previous releases he referenced.
How can it be improved? Maybe if the young man educated himself before turning on the webcam. A lot of what he says is simply what is "doing" the rounds and falls short of a review and into simple opinion. He'll make a great newspaper hack though :-)
